Does anyone know if terrano towbars are all the same fitting taking into account age, lwb/swb etc? :nenau

Yes all the same do you want one

Not quite true.

Cars built after S reg approx, have to have EU approved tow bars. And an EU approved tow ball, these are usually gold in colour.

So early bars are suitable for early vehicles only and of course EU approved can be used on any age vehicle.

Ive been looking at a few on flee bay, thats why i was wondering. There seems to be a few around though some look like two bits of box welded into a T which worry me a bit.

Is that the one on your truck or one youve got for sale? If your selling one, whats it like and how much are you after, though at that weight getting one all the way up here might be a bit pricey anyway.

Curious about fitting a towbar too, how much CNC? Shipping to sunny Edinburgh.

Ta.

Who wants towbars?

The one in the middle is aftermarket the othe 2 are genuine.

The one at the bottom is a brink, branded Ford, I have a spare one of these but only suitable for pre S reg. In much better condition than the one in the pic :augie

I had to fit a Witter as I couldn't get the height on the Brink.

The Brink is much tougher than the Witter though, but both are suitable for the maximum towing weight.

So, are either of you looking to sell? if so, what would the shipped price to Edinburgh be?

Cheers

All 3 have plates with type approval the middle one is witter other 2 are brink one nissan branded one ford branded

I've got a Brink (branded Brink) on mine, you could pull a cruise ship with it. Bought it new off eBay about two years ago, £79! Took about 15 mins to fit. At the same time bought a vehicle-specific wiring kit originally costing around £70 - clearance price - £9!!!
Be worth having a search for new ones.

i'd go brink my first t2 had that 4 stud design, mind sod to get bits for
but certainly was rated for more nose weight than some, and has the
natty loop for break away.

the four studs are smaller diameter than standard two bolt design
and the distances between are different.

am sure would tug a lot more than the 2800kg these trucks are
plated for.
