    Cry for help!

Don't let the "better half" come between you and your truck (she's only jealous) I've had my T2 now for 3 years and in 50 years of driving and owning lots of cars, I love this one the best. My other half complains its thirsty, noisy, too hot/cold, too high, uncomfortable etc etc etc. But it...

    Sensitive Alarm

My alarm is sensitive as well as it went off again last night. It often goes off when its windy or I'm loading the trailer. Went out and turned off the internal sensors and it was quiet for the rest of the night. My alarm (horn) is behind the driver's side rear panel near the back door.

Tow ball recovery point... whats your thoughts??

I'm interested as well but like Banshee I use the tow bar every day. Would need to fit "as well as " the ball rather than "instead of."

    Two Stroke in Diesel

Been adding 2T for a few months now. Definite difference. An easy way to get the 1:200 mix right is however many litres of diesel I put in, I add 5ml of oil per litre. So if I put in 50 litres then thats 250ml of oil, or 20 litres is 100ml of oil. Simples.:thumb2

change of tyres - what is a fair price?

Fitted a set of BFG AT's earlier this year. Not cheap but great tyres, not noticed any mpg decrease, good grip on or off road. Worth every penny.

    Gearbox/clutch

I have something similar, slight clunk but only in lower gears, not noticeable in 4/5. I'm pretty sure it is a UJ on the rear propshaft. To test, a couple of weeks ago I pumped them full of grease (they took a lot) and the noise went away for a while but its back again now. To satisfy my...

    Front wheel arches

Agreed about the prevention but what about the arch as it is now. Under the plastic moulding there is a hole so I need to sort that then I can look after them for another 18 years. This sort of sneaked up on me. Not worth replacing the guard at the moment as its only the arch but the most cost...

    Front wheel arches

Noticed a few bubbles under the paint around the front wheel arch plastic trim so popped one off and its grim in there. Better get on it quick before I lose the whole guard to the tin worm. I don't have a mig so can't really diy it so was thinking of getting replacement wheel arches...

    nissan tranno 2

Each front caliper has two pots and two slider pins. The bottom slider pin can sieze in place so you may need to use plenty of lube and effort to get it out and re-grease with copper slip. I actually bent one of mine trying to get it out. (Note: replacements are not cheap)

    Terrano 11 hubs

Normal. The front diff is open so either front wheel could run free. You may jack it up tomorrow and find its the opposite way round. Not worth the work even if possible, leave the fixed hubs and just slip it in and out of 4wd as needed. My 01 plate is fixed hubs and I have no issue with...

    Terrano 11 hubs

Will depend on which hubs you have fitted auto / manual / fixed. What year is the T2 to start with.

I bet we all know what one is now. :lol:lol:lol

    T2 Handbrake cable .... help

To get the spring and end blob out through the backplate the size of the hole will need to be at least 10mm which is about the diameter of the metal bit sticking through to the shoe side of the backplate. So I will work on the cable from both sides, twisting rather than exercising Mr Hammer...

    T2 Handbrake cable .... help

I removed the circlip or rather it disintergrated and fell off but the cable sheath fitting is rock solid in the backplate. I've soaked it in penetrating oil but can't move or twist it. I'm sure every p**** nut, bolt, bracket or fitting on this truck was tightened by The Hulk and then soaked...

    T2 Handbrake cable .... help

Found I have a seized o/s handbrake cable on the T2. Removed the end from the equaliser bar, removed the mounting bolts (well sheared them anyway) but I cannot get the end out of the backplate. I already have the shoes off and a new cable on order. (Tried oiling it - no luck) I'm sure anyone...

    Spring assisters

I'm surprised that the rear sags when towing as a T2 is a good towcar. Do you know what nose weight your trailer is putting on the ball? The trailer in the picture, being a twin axle, should keep the nose weight within reasonable limits even with a good load in it. Check the height of the...

    2.4 petrol ,gear problem

Symptoms sound similar to a problem I had last year. Turned out to be a damaged clutch plate not releasing properly. Best to try the easy things first but I wouldn't replace the box without checking the clutch first.
