I know this is going to be a controversial topic but here goes.....

I noticed when trailer hitched up the arse of the terrano sagged a good bit - so I went for cheapy cheap option of fitting rubber spring assisters.
£20 quid later and fitted in ten mins, trailer and terrano sit a lot better now.
Went for drive this morning too without trailer, slightly stiffer on the rear but all good, no kicking out at roundabouts or anything like that.
Fine short term fix, but il probably look at getting heavy duty springs for long term.

Possibly, it's a swan neck though.
Ideally I would go for a fixed flange towbar with 4 holes so I could adjust height of towball.
The towbar frame bolts are pretty rusty and I'm no keen on trying to remove them, they might round off or snap and I'm left with no towbar at all.
 
I'm surprised that the rear sags when towing as a T2 is a good towcar. Do you know what nose weight your trailer is putting on the ball? The trailer in the picture, being a twin axle, should keep the nose weight within reasonable limits even with a good load in it. Check the height of the towball. When the car is normally loaded and no trailer hitched up on level ground, the centre of the ball should be within 350mm and 420mm from the ground, measured vertically.

I tow a trailer full of water every day, with a nose weight up to 90 Kgs, and only get about 2 inches of droop when hitched up. I also tow a caravan.

To get both of them to tow level I've had to move the ball to the lower holes.
