    17" Alloy Nut Seat Insert

I've had these inserts drop out on my 3L. Put them back using locktite about four years ago & it seems to have done the job. First time I've ever come across inserts like this.

    head lining damp patch

2004 3L. Small damp patch suddenly appeared around driver's side sun blind mounting after heavy rain. Car was on level ground. Have prodded-out sun roof drains both sides: they appeared to be clear. Removal of sun blind didn't reveal anything. Don't know what else to do next. Any suggestions...

    Oil Level on a 3Litre

Mine has the slot also (2004). Who said 7L? Think you will find Nissan quote it's 6.7! My experience is that it's more like 6.5L. The oil level should be checked when hot & after 1 or 2 mins. Over night it will show a marked rise. Note that the turbo is not very forgiving of drastically...

    old van/new van

Just a tip re inboard pumps from a long-time 'vaner: If an inboard pump is used then mount it on a piece of pile carpet (pile side DOWN) & don't do the mounting screws up any tighter than needed to retain it. This will stop the floor acting as a sounding board. BTW inboard pumps are self-priming...

    Washer pump

When my pump 'failed' I got several very peculiar electrical symptoms (diagnosed as a faulty multi-switch) as well as 'noise but no flow'. Changing the switch made no difference (except to my wallet; groan!). In desperation, after being quoted stupid money by Nissan, On a hunch I took the pump...

    ign. sw. faulty/

I apologise in advance for asking the same questions that must have been asked before (& I have searched!), but...... My 2004 3L terrano has recently started acting like it has a flat battery (it definitely hasn't!) in that it shows no dash lights & refuses to even turn-over. At the same time I...

    Drooll & double drool............

All Terrano's die what would be next choice?

After watching that Belgian parking his car I'll never complain again LOL.

All Terrano's die what would be next choice?

That's all my garage is good for LOL. Forgot to mention that I have to back down the drive so as to get my side as close to the wall as possible, & the get out of the passenger door! At least it's slightly easier being an auto, but I've still scraped the front wings several times. The actual...

All Terrano's die what would be next choice?

If only that were at all possible. Think my neighbour might have something negative to say about that! This house was built in 1964 & the designers obviously thought we would all own minis, hence max. 7ft (2.1M) driveways. The only car I've owned that was easy to get out off, in the driveway...

All Terrano's die what would be next choice?

My big problem (& one the reasons I bought my present one) is finding something as narrow as the Terrano. Apart from my previous Frontera (same width), everything is 100mm+ wider so I wouldn't be able to get out in my driveway ! Memories of having to use the rear exit in my daughter's Disco...

    3.0 Terrano Engine

Had mine for nearly 6 years & am very pleased with it (apart from getting stuck 4 times: hopefully the new tyres, just fitted, will improve that!). I advise using 5w40 Full Synth oil as this circulates much quicker, from cold, than 10 or 15w mineral, & it lasts much longer. 'Cold clatter' is...

    Oil's

My 2004 3l auto had ATF in the transfer box (& I've replaced it with dexron 111 ATF!) but it also quotes an alternative oil 75/90 API GL4 & stresses that they are not to be mixed. I'm no expert but I think these appear to be different in viscosity, though I don't actually know what the...

    Tyre Pressures

I run mine at 26f 26r solo (26f 33r when towing 1.6T with 2 people, 35r with 4 people or an extra load). For many years I've used a test recommended to me by a well-known tyre company & it frequently has confirmed the car manufacturers figures are correct (but not always LOL). Make sure the...

    New exhaust time

Regarding rusty exhausts. When I (& Adam!) was a lad I was always told that something on a car has to go rusty & the exhaust is the cheapest bit. Hence it pays to buy better quality (ie. thicker) products & let them rot sacrificially. Not sure how this works if S.S. is used LOL. Another 'gem'...

    Fun & Games (NOT)

Just a tip that saved me once: if the bleed nipple is u/s but removable (I drilled mine out!) a small ball bearing followed by a bolt will seal perfectly. Yes I know.....you still need a suitable ball & screw, but I can't do everything for you LOL.

    pertrol in my diesel!

Might be some truth in your theory re 'crud build-up'. After using 2SO for about 1K miles the engine was definitely going better, quieter & putting out a lot less smoke/particles. I will continue to use it just for 'ins.' as it's bound to improve lubricity. Fingers crossed that I haven't done...

    pertrol in my diesel!

Oh the shame of it all. In a bout of senile dementia, sigh, I managed to fill-up my diesel Terrano with 40L of that other smelly stuff! Even at %50 mix it still ran OK for 20 miles but then wouldn't re-start (no surprise there then). Called out Green Flag who very professionally pumped out the...

Loss of Drive - All Gears - Terrano 2

Apart from being 2 years older than you, I could have written this myself LOL. Every job is best avoided! A tip given to me on the Mitsubishi forum for loosening stuck-on wheels: undo bolts 1/4 to 1/2 turn then drive over a curb or a plank of wood etc. that is about 1 to 2" (25 to 50mm) high...
