    Knocking noise...

Well, since your T2 is about 11 years old, if these parts haven't been changed before, it is about time :) Upper, lower balljoints, steering links, compression rod bushes, anti-roll bar bushes... Did them all the past 2 years, made a world of difference to mine.

    Knocking noise...

Front of the car, behind the wheels: horizontal metal bar, going from the bottom wishbone (attached with 2 bolts) towards a mounting bracket welded to the chassis. Rubber bush met a metal insert is located on either side of the bracket. Have a look at the pictures here (Pathfinder, but part...

    Knocking noise...

How are the compression rod rubber bushes? If they are worn the steel bush inside starts chewing through the mounting point. Caused knocking sound on mine... Straightforward repair, once all the nuts are loose :lol

    Remembered

We don't wear poppies here in Belgium, but the war is still very much alive. I've heard the stories of my grandparents, I've visited several WW2 plane crash sites in my area, visited the Battle of the Bulge field - and properly read up on the war. Understanding WW1 and WW2 is key to Belgian...

    Replacing engine coolant.

Thing are better arranged here in Belgium then, we can bring this kind of stuff (oil, coolant, batteries, etc) to a recycling area for free - every town has one.

    New exhaust time

I have a full Milner exhaust on my swb since early June last year. Looks rusty indeed, like the picture above, but no holes. Fitted perfectly, no complaints. Local motor factor was more than triple the price. So even if the Milner one only lasts half as long, I'm still better off :)

    Rear Storrage?

Some pictures of the storage in my T2 here. 2 drawers (plywood), room for car and shoot gubbins, and 2 guns.

    White writing yay or nay?

Had the white lettering out on my Toyo's. Didn't stay white for very long ;)

    Wanted drag link

Drag link no point second hand, just get new ones from Milner's or any other part supplier. Calipers: what's wrong with them? Could just be a case of seized slide pins, can be fixed with elbow grease and light sandpaper. Just have a search here on the forum and the workshop downloads.

    Fun & Games (NOT)

Exactly the same happened to me, ended up replacing all brake lines. Since I had to bleed it anyway I also replaced the rubber ones to the front calipers. If I remember correctly, 10mm size nipples...

    Replacing engine air filter

But even on non-lifted T2, oil filter change is no big deal. Take off the wheel at that side, fold back the rubber flap, and there you go. It will spill a bit of oil, but not enough to make Mrs perelaar complain ;) Tip: fill the new filter with (new) oil before you screw it in. And dab some of...

    Wings,

Fixed mine with glass fiber... easy but messy. Taking the wing off will make it easier - and will allow you to fix all the hidden rust spots you did not know you had ;)

hard to start from cold - quick check...

Split outer CV boots: don't bother trying to replace them with the CVs in place, just take them out (a few bolts on front dif, if I remember correctly). Clamp in vice, remove outer CV from inner CV by applying a hammer. Not a lot of force needed! See also this post here, as always Rick was right :)

wheel bearing, antiroll bar linkages, steering idler arms....to be replaced

6 hours to replace those parts is way more than a garage mechanic with access to proper tools (air wrench, car lift etc) should need.

wheel bearing, antiroll bar linkages, steering idler arms....to be replaced

Mind you, they are probably quoting parts prices for parts sourced from Nissan. Had the same with my garage; they did not want to go into ordering parts online from various places, always only contacted the manufacturer of the car. In the end we agreed that I'd source the parts and they would...

    Rear Break part

Had a seized HB cable, ended up replacing the damn thing. And the brackets between the cable and the chassis, all mounting bolts were rotten.

    anyone experience with recovery boards?

I know (off) this technique, but have never tried it myself. What do you do when you have limited space, and have to turn your wheels?

    anyone experience with recovery boards?

On a typical day out there's a very muddy labrador and a very bouncy wet German Short-haired pointer in the back already ;)

    anyone experience with recovery boards?

Guys, most of the times I get stuck is not belly deep in mud. As said, it is when ferrying people around on our shoot, parking on not so stable ground. I'd love to splurge on a winch and ground anchor, but there really is no time to dig in an anchor in this situation. I'd hold up the entire...
