    Clutch pedal mechanism

Which may be what I have to do! Do we know if the assemblies all the same across the range? Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

    Clutch pedal mechanism

Cheers for the reply. I've had that too. A week or so ago on a journey the pedal suddenly started to stick half way back up. Took some effort to lift it with my toes. Discovered that that pedal 'shaft' was catching on the steering wheel shaft (there is a step it was catching on). The 'fix' was...

    Clutch pedal mechanism

My 'clutch' woes continue. This time the clutch pedal mechanism has broke. The long story I'll spare you but a couple of spot welds have gone plus the top bolt fixing is torn. Will try to upload pics later for those that are interested. So, tomorrow is a day off work and will atempt a weld...

Clutch: clevis pin bush and synchromesh

So my days umming and arring continue. The other day, sat at some lights, in gear but clutch down and it was definitely creeping forward. I've often thought this but it's never been so pronounced that you couldn't put it down to just being on a bit of a slope. Given that, I've got to change...

Clutch: clevis pin bush and synchromesh

Hi Rick, That seems very generous. Thank You. Will consider my next move but will probably PM you in a day or two for more details.

Clutch: clevis pin bush and synchromesh

Thanks for the reply Rick. Must admit that I still don't understand how the input to the gearbox can be spinning around with any force when the clutch is depressed but your diagnosis agrees with the garage's. The heating up bit also confuses me. You say 'strip' but the garage said recon box. Do...

Clutch: clevis pin bush and synchromesh

I changed the oil last year (this is a long running problem that has slowly got worse). Used comma oil. Forget the grade but it was the one recommended here and everywhere else. I posted at the time it took the full 5 litres and not the (iirc) 3.5 it should have. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

Clutch: clevis pin bush and synchromesh

Hi all,. I asked a good while back about trouble getting first gear on the Terrano. Suggestion was the slave cylinder and/or flexi hose. This happens after about 10 miles of driving. It's fine when cold but heat is having an effect on something. It starts by being difficult to get into 1st...

which WiFi camera can be linked to BT WiFi FON?

Arriving very late to this thread, but... I'm guessing that with BT FON it is open network (no WPA encryption) that will hijack your first Web browser session on it and ask for your BT details. Fine if you are on a laptop/ipad/etc but unlikely to be any good with a Wifi camera as you don't have...

    Radio / hazard switch replacement

Can't help with your questions but have some dubious advice. Previous owner of my terrano fitted an after market radio. A while later, while hundreds of miles away from home the truck refused to start. He had to hire a car to drive home and get the old unit for the garage to reprogram the keys...

    Running board mounts

Thanks all. Food for thought. The mounts are rotted both ends. Can you buy mounts anywhere? It's just a bit of bent tube I guess but I doubt I have the time/patience/tools/skills etc to make my own. Will get under the old girl and remove them so I can have a proper butchers. Sent from my...

    Running board mounts

Hello all, I know running boards aren't the flavour of the day here (I've read the back posts) but any advice on replacing the mounts on a pair of these? The mounts' tubing look like something from a Victorian pier and got a dishonourable mention on the last MOT. Since then, my boy has informed...

    New exhaust time

Just thought I'd update the thread. New exhaust fitted. Manufactured by A2A. Never heard of them either. However, easily Googled. They give a good write up of themselves. :-) The exhaust itself (and I've looked at little more than the tail pipe) looks a chunky beast. So pleased so far. Will...

    New exhaust time

Well, I've gone for the local motor factors bits fitted by my new favourite tyre shop. Costwise it works out as free fitting. Stainless would be nice but time is of the essence. Anyone look up the bush winch (admittedly it should have been a post of its own)? Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

    New exhaust time

Thanks for that. Clearly I'd be no worse of going to the local factors then. Interesting that you say different manufacturer's parts can be different shapes for notionally the same bit. Good to be forewarned. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

    New exhaust time

Noticed yesterday that the old girl's tail pipe was at a jaunty angle. A furtle underneath an I find it's gone at the joint with the mid section. That would be great (only tail section needed) but there is also a hole in the back of the box so it's new mid and tail section time (the front piece...

    Clutch slave cylinder

Hmmm. Better get the slave cylinder changed sharpish then to see if I can improve things. Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk

    Clutch slave cylinder

And thoughts of a quick fix to my gear change problems now seem premature as it's back to its old ways. :( Slave cylinder and flexi hose next I think. Ignoring the capacity issue for a moment, the oil that came out was pretty black. Not engine oil black but not the golden brown I was...
