Radio / hazard switch replacement

Hello

I needs to replace the original radio head unit in my 2003 Nissan terrano for an after market unit, dose any one have a wiring diagram for the original connections

Also the original unit unit has the integrated hazard switch so I'll need to fit another switch , any ideas about wiring?

Can't help with your questions but have some dubious advice. Previous owner of my terrano fitted an after market radio. A while later, while hundreds of miles away from home the truck refused to start. He had to hire a car to drive home and get the old unit for the garage to reprogram the keys. No idea how that works or to the accuracy of the story.
In summary, keep the old radio.

Hi, this is one of those subjects that has been covered alot so loads of info on here. Try the search function and loads should show up, there are fascia plates (expensive) and pre made radio wiring extensions available to buy online. Believe lots of people have done this mod without problem.

i`d use the surround from a older t2 or a maverick with the single din radio slot and separate hazard switch

The later Terranos have a panel with a separate switch and a single din radio, you might pick one up from a breakers. Also seen the same panel and switch from ebay but as said over hu dred quid!
There are previous threads and indeed some people have used switches from Primera's and made a panel from mdf or whatever.

Think you would have to check but I think the lower dash panels won't fit the earlier panels. Also the heater control panel is different too. They might fit but I think they look different shapes.
Good idea though as it would solve the same problem for loads of people.

I've had after market head units in all the terranos i have owned and never had any issues with the nats system:nenau
Used an iso connector and piggy backed into the wires i needed for the hazard switch.
Made my panel from some MDF and painted it black.

All leads available on fleabay, just cut a pattern from the diagram sent with the new radio, then a piece of 6-8mm mdf, some matt black....it is a bit fiddly ....but......hey presto.......:thumb2

i compared the 2 types of surround the new type could be replaced with the old but you would need all the gear stick surrounds and centre plastic or cut the new surround part way down and use the top part of the other type then alter the heater switches:doh i think i`d go down the mdf spray paint and new hazard switch road:thumbs
