I'm up in the lakes from the 27th and we chatted about getting a laning weekend in :thumb2

If cannot site vat there, is there some place close, or where others are staying, Rick

This site is probably closest and to where we will have drinks, maybe some camp food saturday night at the bothy (4 miles away) and in the general area of planned laning. Theres a nice pub within walking distance too.

No mention of tin tents, just motorhomes? but I would call them and find out.

If anyone likes camping they can stay at the bothy or even pitch their tent outside the bothy. Free, nothing, nadda :naughty

I will be finding out soon who plans to stay at the bothy, it's an experience!

other options a little further away, Please check if they accept caravans:

http://www.woodlandsdevilsbridge.co.uk/ (I know a few people on here camped here on the last welsh trip)

http://www.erwbarfe.co.uk/cms/getting-here/

Closest and cheapest I think
Penrhiw Campsite, Ffair Rhos (about 3 miles from the bothy, But close to a road)
Telephone 01974 831408.
There's a pub across the road but hate the owner, Nicer pub about a mile away.

About the same for me.. still sorting through the options but another option could be to meet up on the way? Depending on routes obviously :thumb2 Can't take my caravan though so I'll be tenting?:nenau

We looking forward to it too, after today at pay and play have decided to stick with my 31's the wide knobbly 255 whatsits are just not up to the job, ground clearance being the better of the equation, they will be the same wheels and tyres we did the same routes 3 or so years ago, looking forward to meeting you all again, Rick

How wide are your 31's Rick. I see your knobblys are 255 so can't be that much narroer can they?

I'm not going to be able to make it this time round :(
Can't get any time off work so I will have to give it a miss.

they are 10.50 but the 255's are only 29" so I lose that all important ground clearance, the 750 x 16's normally on the off road motor also come out at 31 and are a lot narrower but as they are dumper type not good for road use and also not good for the rocky part of the Welsh trip, Rick
