Who'd of thought it, a green oval guiding nissans through the lanes? ;)

As said before glad you all enjoyed yourself. I had a great time too and I really like showing people new lanes to them. Also glad to tick off 2 new lanes I've always wanted to do. Which are now my 2 favourite.

With the weather it was like a mini holiday for myself, Can't remember the last time I've been along those lanes in such lovely weather.

Uploading my top photos now, might take a while with my coal fired internet.

no pics of todays action ? :nenau

pft, that's because we've only just got back :thumbs
Top day out Fez, top work and top guys to be with all day , splendid :D
We clocked up some stunning firsts all round, thoroughly enjoyed myself :)
I do also promise to turn down my pump a bit :lol
But it did have some funny moments :lol
Sorry Rob :augie
I've got shed loads of video to work through and will get some of it up soon............................................ish

Just a quick panorama from the top of a top day out just before going home :)

Amazing indeed , and I live here :D
Here's a few more off my phone, this first one was proper pretty but still a challenge from both the sun through the trees, and the lane surface :sly
Butterfly lane I think it's called, but it was really more like slurry avenue by the farm end :p

A bit later I took this one up on Nant y Moch the long and windy road disappearing off into the hills :)

One of the new lanes for Fez and me too up Elan Valley :clap
proper tricky rocky steps and concentration needed to spot your line through this lot. Well done Steve :thumbs

Quick I see a crack in that there wall

My new favorite lane on the old mining road from Rhyader to Aberystwyth, bloody brilliant :naughty Driving into the sunset too , top times.

Finally home after one of the best weekend's lanes I can remember , my beast just wants MORE :naughty:naughty

And relax :D
I'll try and make sense of all the video of the next few days.

My tail pipe came adrift from the rear silencer, strapped it up but far too noisy for the drive home, came across a village garage, just round the corner from the hotel, past it Sunday and was open? so stopped and said could I pop in Monday for a weld job, to my delight he said yes in the afternoon, went past this morning and workshop was empty, with two guys watching the world go by, so popped in to ask if they could look at it now, lots off iffing and areing, but said eventually run it on the ramp, dully done, now this is where it gets good as after looking at it and eventually deciding it can be welded, the elder of the two proceeds out side and starts a SDMO gen set identical in external appearance to mine at home, but I am thinking the lights are already on!!!, lots of noise now and with my hearing and the Welsh accent I cannot make out a word, but turns out that they only have single phase and ramp/welder/air compressor are 3 phase, hence the gen set which is 44Kva rated 3 phase as against my 10.7 Kva, so weld complete I ask the price, £50 I thought he said but on asking again with my lug hole near his mouth established it was £15, ffs gave him £20 and was well happy, this is truly a different world, Rick

Yes did see a big army looking beast, did not know it was his, what on earth was it, Rick

I'm uploading vids tonight but here's a little one to watch :thumbs
Sorry it's all in the wrong aspect but I had to use the phone upside down so it could see past the ruddy holder :doh

Yerp that is me in front, brake lights on most of the time cos I am in 2 high most of the time as I have a petrol and can go up in 2 wheel at 500 revs no problem, the 2.7's cannot get anywhere near that so needed 4 low, just a fact of life, Rick

But the td27s have engine breaking whereas the petrols wont?

True the 2.7 and 3.0 have a tad more engine braking than the 2.4, but my point was that even on inclines on rough ground I was in high box at 500 revs without strain, something the Td's cannot do, the reason I prefer 2 wheel in this sort of situation is the steering is lighter and more positive, Rick

It's a Raynolds RB44, They look like beasts.

Ah Reynolds Boughton, I remember this company as winch and heavy recovery crane manufactures, one of our recovery vehicle was fitted with a Boughton winch and it performed well, think it was 20 ton's with around 3/4 wire rope, and think we had a crane but not sure, (memory dims) but looking at the history seems the army were less than pleased, had braking and steering problems so were withdrawn from service and it seems sold off, Rick

Who can guess what equipment I had on my truck for the trip, bet you will not get all of it and there was a lot, always prepared me, Rick
