Tulip parade and festival weekend.

Just to bring back a few memories and a reminder of a day from the past and to say thank you on this day.
We have over the last 5 years spent time with the following members here in Spalding on this Tulip festival weekend in May.

Once again thank you for the all the effort put in to attend and the memories from some great members.

Only one regret and that is the only person from the list below who is not in the members list today is Shark1e, The founder of this great club.

hi mav, been a while since we chatted.
just a thought why didn't you organize a meet this year to the tulip parade this year

its still your club. its everyone's club
nothing stopping you arranging meets and events if you want to. i know id come if you did and i had the funds available. just to meet you, the first person to welcome me to the club.

i know things have changed greatly since that day, but your still the boss for me, without you the club would probably not be here at all. i know i have changed since we met here. my work situation and home, but i still have you lot.
reading this thread made me respond, reading some of the names who don't visit much now, brings back some good memories of chats we've had. funny really its only been 9 months or so
i guess the current situation i find myself in , then read your thread i sat back and thought , "you know what" i am quite angry and upset by my situation and possibly outspoken a lot more than i used to be.

so reading your post today has made me realize, its a club for everyone a place to escape if you like, a place for us to build, fix or modify our trucks
and im going to pick myself up and just chill and relax and enjoy

the angry extreme has now left the club...its just me now the chilled extreme

so come on arrange a meet or event

This was one event I wanted to go but never made it, same with the Rally I guess too. I still am not in a position to buy a van to stop in and perhaps my motor is getting a bit too long in the tooth now to tow a van. Keep in touch Mav and Tubbs and may be next year will be different. I feel your last post came from your heart and you may be feeling a bit low at the moment buddy, but as Shark1e use to say to me so often was "Chin up brov it will be alright" but that may be easier said than done sometime, But he was right as always:thumb2.

My lifes changed so much in the last 4 months too, Sold the club and changed jobs again, It just shows you how quick life can change so quick and not always for the better but it can turn around just as quick for the good again too.

If i can help you Col in anyway just give me a shout.

With regards a Tulip meet this is the first year for many years where we have sat at home this morning looking outside without having caravans in the drive and not having to plan a thing.

I do feel really very guilty that i have not invited the people we had stop with us last year as they were fantastic and we enjoyed every minute of the stay with us.

I am not going to promise but if people remember this post in a years time and all goes well we will see what happerns but there would need to be enough members intrested to go ahead with it.

Take care buddy and the pleasure is all mine to have had you find us and join our club.

You have been here from the start and you should know by now if you want to come down to Spalding one Tulip weekend or any weekend come to that you would be made very welcome.
You may not have a van now but my vans here for you to stop in, If not our garden has a large lawn with plenty of room for tents and you would have the use of our home while you stay with us.

hi ya mav sad day indeed

last we heard down here it was not on, canceled I only asked tubbs earlier in the week,
was thinking about the lorry show thats on up your way this weekend.
He then told me the show was back on but a bit late we all would of love to come up again
All ways been a very good weekend well lets make sure its only one year we miss
start a post for next year I no its a long way off but better early than late or never at all

Hello Dave, Yes Tubbs was right it was canceled earlier in the year and this i think was the 50th parade in as many years, The people of Spalding said that it needed to be saved and it was, Well for another year anyway.

250,000 people will attend this years parade and it is a day to sample if you have never seen it before.

Truckfest is on at peterbouorgh this week also as its a bank holiday weekend which if your a trucker like myself could round of your weekend.

Anyway must dash as we are now going to have a walk along the local streets and look at some of the stalls selling bedding plants and shrubs and sample a few beers.

(My son has just got back from town and said he saw Dinky, Surly not)

This was one meet I never managed to attend, due to being away at work or being at work.
Have spoken to members who have been and its always been a great time:thumbs

Hope it goes ahead next year and I might be off:nenau time will tell.

Next year, I can say with a high degree of confidence we would be there. Being fanatical tin shedders we're all over the place.

Problem I have is like many others ....time !!!.......but with notice arrangements can be made.

Hi Mick, yeah me too I like gardening but I have not had time to enjoy ours since moving in nearly 3 years ago. I used to have an allotment that I miss like mad but I simply would not have the time for it at the moment. Our back garden is all paved, it's expensive paving too with a round feature in the middle of it. Appart from putting Tubb's everywhere (hope Marie don't mind) I'm not sure what to do with it. One day Mick I'll be able to sit back and enjoy things like gardening again. Hope you enjoy being out in the morning sun mate.
