Half way through the winch build I had a delivery of gaiters, ball joints and everything steering related from the steering box.
So with the guillotine primed, I set to stripping the front steering and suspension out.

Another project slipped in mid rebuild!!:lol

Got fed up moving the third row around the garage and decided to use it in the garden as I'd only used it maybe 3 times as seats 6 and 7.

It's bolted to the frame using the truck fittings, so it can be used again as the third row if needed but I doubt it.

So now it's back on 4 wheels, I trial fitted the bumper and winch plate.

Borrowed a MIG welder to weld the winch bumper to the truck as I was struggling with the TIG.
I then set about rebuilding the bumper support metalwork as it was rotten on both ends. I had bought a new washing machine a few months ago and stripped the old one apart to help practice my TIG welding.:lol
It worked very well to patch up the ends

These bumper supports were weak and one had long gone so made a couple of replacements.

And this is where I'm at, at the minute.

I've yet to wire the solenoids up and I'm intending on putting a couple of switches inside to spool in and out as well as the plug in switch. I also have a couple of remote buttons but haven't had them working yet.

I have yet to cut the slot for an alloy fairlead too. I've drilled the bolt holes for it but used them to bolt my number plate to it for now.:thumbs

I've been persuaded to do some eyegramming and keep getting adverts thrown at me...
One was for a loud 12v horn. 130db apparently. It works, but for how long?:lol

And fitted a catch can.

It's back on the road tomorrow and I'm straight out working it, so we'll see how it fairs.
I've only eyeballed the steering. Haven't found anyone able to set the tracking on this truck. I've ended up tweaking it myself and the tyres have lasted well.
So I'll see if I can do it again:clap

Hi Rick. Been extremely busy. Hope you and Mags are well:thumb2

Like wise, with restaurants re opening you can imagine stuff that has been not used for months does not come back to life straight away, so my trade has been absolutely manic, no time to myself at all, just as well we are fit and healthy, all the best to you and yours, Rick

I'm having a mare with box oil finding it's way out:confused:
I've been chasing leaks around the engine bay. I've swapped out the rad and added a larger oil cooler and since that its been a mess.
it blew a pipe off the other day and left a 100mtr slick down the road until it lost so much, there were no gears!!
Thought it was my sloppiness and missing a jubilee clip but not so sure now.:nenau
My brother asked to use it this week and has been trying to get it to stop leaking.
He's welded extensions on the new oil cooler fittings to remove joins in the flexis, replaced sections of the flexis too and he thinks he's sorted it.
He has been towing heavy loads around the last couple of days and other than also having a trail of oil down his road, it's been faultless. Even in the 35/40deg heat we've had today.
Tomorrow I plan to check the flow either side of the rad cooler and the oil cooler and check the rest of the lines to and from the gearbox.

We're away in our caravan next week so fingers crossed for that:doh

Other than that, it's all good :lol:lol Keep smiling :D:D:D:D:D
