Wish I could stick a second battery on a 3.0litre so I could transfer all my electrics from the project truck. Mind you after what I discovered today with the wheel bearing and hub a battery is the least of my worries.

Why can't you fit a second battery Jim?

All the later trucks have a washer bottle behind ns headlamp which is easiest spot to mount a battery. I think Blocky has thought about mounting a battery underneath if there's a body lift but mines standard so not really much room.

Anyhoo sorry for hi jacking the thread blocky

No problem Jim. I've had a quick look and am wondering if I can mount a second battery under the middle seats under the floor, if that makes sense.

If you get that fitted I'll be really interested. I've wondered about fitting the earlier tank but even then the ac pipes stick out further than my older truck.

Of course there is another option but that's a lot harder and will involve the United Nations. I could politely ask the wife if I can have my project truck back and she could have the 3.0 litre :doh

:lol you never know..... you may have to have a couple of 'problems' to sort on the project truck that could take a while.

really tidy that Blocky:thumb2
This is on my never ending to do list.
Where did you get the parts from if you don't mind me asking?

Cheers Elty. My brother has cars in and out weekly 1 or 2 end up scrapers so I go and rob stuff off them. :thumb2
I'd been looking for a fuse/ relay box to fit but nothing come up. I'd got the main cable through and decided to buy new. Almost everything from the bay, see links. They're not the exact ones I bought but pretty close.
Obviously I robbed the relays out of a scraper. I have reels of wire from years ago when I rewired my bike. The stainless plate I had kicking about. :D

Fitted my roof rack yesterday. Cut off the original fixings as it is off a Berlingo van, made and welded on brackets and bolted to the rails using U-bolts.
I've got brackets and lugs ect. to add, for spot lights ect. and i'm also thinking about welding in a sheet of expanded mesh, depending on weight, so I can actually use it:naughty
Once I've finished, I'll have it powder coated, probably black:nenau

Nice job on the roof rack, just as an idea, how about some Aluminium checker plate, instead of mesh, it would act as like the double sun protection roof on the Camel desert trucks, to keep the inside cooler in the summer.

I was looking at your wiring (Neat), and just wondered, what did you do with the Jack, now you pinched it's hidy hole?

Thanks :thumb2
I hadn't thought of using Alu checker plate. Probably lighter too?

Since I've had the truck, the only time the bottle jack came out was when I fitted the lecy panel!
I have a box of tools in the boot which includes a trolley jack, and another job on the list is boot storage under a false floor:thumbs

Makes sense, I have only ever taken mine out to run wires behind it, or check it works.

If anyone has a switch that looks like this, dead or alive, I'd like to purchase it from you. I only need the internals:thumbs

Not sure how this update to the thread will turn out cos I can hardly see straight!!!

I spent the afternoon back at my brothers workshop and decided I'd better try this out! Watched a 10 min youtube vid and set to it.

Got to grips with it. Easy to use and very satisfying

Fitted my old muds to the 8 spokes I got from Banshee:D

Like it:sly

Fitted my all terrains to my alloys

Now I have a set of Mitsi alloys for sale

They suit it much better than the mitsi ones mate, looks really really good :thumb2 what offset are they?

...also what size tyres??

I'm up!! A bit wobbly but I'm ok:beer::freak3:
The steel rims are 8j 15" and I'll have a look and see what the offset is as soon as I've had a greasy fry up :thumb2

The tyres are 31x10.50x15. Well worn mud terrains and the front two are almost at the end of their life.

Keep it to yourself T-Doug but I've removed the front mud flaps to make room. :augie
