Should have asked me Zac, I make adaptors for hydraulic jacks for that kind of thing, Rick

Thanks for the offer Rick, I didn't know but do now!!! Thanks for collecting that roof lining for me, it's got to be in better condition than mine was :doh

I'm not sure when I'll be able to get down to you to grab it with all that's going on but I'll keep you posted :thumb2

At least you're making progress mate:thumb2
I seem to be taking two steps back with mine:(
For every little job i tick off my list i find two more:lol

Very Very slow progress, I feel better now I've got one of those bushes out!!! I've just got to do the other and then I'll feel much better  I'm not looking forward to welding those diff crossmember repair sections in :(

Just take your time with them mate.
If you are not happy grind them off and start again:thumbs

Excellent work, I like your resourcefulness. MacGyver has nothing on you. :D

Having read previously that Millner has fallen out of favour, where do you get your parts from these days? I seem to remember they were local, am ai correct in thinking that it is Japanese4x4 in Honiley?

Well I'm sorry for the lack of updates guys. Xmas was a weird period and the weather hasn't been ideal so I've not really been anywhere near the truck to do any jobs on it, especially as my space heater had been out of action, but it's fixed now

There have been a few jobs done here and there though, Pizza man is about to walk up my driveway any second so I'll post later :thumb2

That was a big pizza hey!!!!:doh

Well I finally managed to get those damn bush sleeves out of the chassis!!! :bow :bow I ended up ordering some Tungsten Carbide Rotary Burrs with a 3mm shank that went into my Dremel.

IMG-20210113-175234272-copy-1024x768.jpg

Using these I was able to get the Dremel inside and drag it backwards freehand which made a surprisingly straight grove that I was able to keep passing over until I was eventually able to bend the sleeve in on itself before it collapsed

IMG-20210116-182437624-copy-1024x768.jpg

I never want to do that job again!!!

IMG-20210117-151037893-copy-1024x576.jpg

With that one ticked off and in that area, I thought that it was about time I got the front diff crossmember chassis bits welded up as I'd cut the metal. Juts a case of cleaning up and hitting it with the welder.

Bosh!!!! Slapped some paint on it to stop it rusting until I crack the Waxoyl out

One of the nights last week when the weather was too too cold to be rolling around the floor and with the space heater out of action at that point, I decided to focus some attention on interior jobs

Seats and Carpets back out to help with the cleaning and I'm also going to be running a lot of wiring for new bits and bobs in the truck so helps with that.

Starting with my Tunit II

IMG-20210116-130421896-copy-1024x576.jpg

Been playing with lighting too, I've got few different options but still playing and deciding what I like best.........

I've also rebuilt and rewired my spotlights on my roof rails.

They were looking very tired and I was never happy with the wiring from the start when I originally built it so did it nice this time around to compliment my new Scanstrut DS-H10

Nice work mate:thumb2
Will be like a new motor when it's done

Good work mate. Reminds of when I wired spots to the roof bar on the Black Pearl.
When I get to that stage on the Trol I'll be going LED. The lumen per watt increment is just amazing.
Keep it up :thumbs

Refurbishment Continues........

Progress has been very slow as usual, life and such.....

I've been doing bits and bobs here and there and here's some pictures for you to delight over..... if anyone is still around to indulge from such pleasures anymore, the forum is a GHOST town of it's former self.

Been really loving the Scanstrut glands at the moment in an effort to waterproof the truck

IMG-20210617-214532-copy-1024x576.jpg

Refurbished by calipers and carriers, cleaned up the pads and treated them to a new set of slider pins and boots

I have got an ancient thread open for this one that I've also updated but I wanted to update the project thread with it just so it's all in once place.

The QD32ETi E50 125a Alternator is a traight swap for the 70a Terrano unit

Engine bay is looking cruddy as hell at the moment

IMG-20210704-160835-copy-768x1024.jpg

As I've got loads of re-wring to do, I've decided to Waxoyl the engine bay and tidy everything up as best I can hence cleaning up all the reservoirs in the previous post

Lights and calipers are looking good Zac!

I agree that the forum is extremely quiet. Not a lot of interaction anymore and it makes you wonder if it is worthwhile to keep a thread going or just takes photo’s gor personal use.

But I guess if we do that then we are as bad as them? :nenau I say we take the approach you've already been taking and "update shame" them into doing some work of their own ;) let's rile them all up and keep doing our top quality work and posting it :p :p

I've got a feeling that there will be some lovely pics posted within the next week from a few of our veterans :naughty legend has it, Alfretons finest Gorse Hunter and a Norfolk Pig farmer have been hiding out in the hills :thumbs

We keep our fingers crossed! :D I had no plans to stop posting and hope that some of the issues covered might just help somebody else down the line.

I have got a few other things to do (not Patrol related) after finishing the engine but I hope to keep doing some work to her after that. She could do with having her undersides waxoiled, a few bits of metal need replacing, new flywheel & clutch and finally I was hoping to make some new sidesteps as the current ones are damaged. It will certainly keep my busy. :thumb2

A lonely road........

Well a lot has happened in the last few years with life and what not, but I'll be honest, not a lot has happened with the truck since 2021. I don't know what happened but I just kind of fell out of love with it and couldn't seem to get my arse into gear to get the jobs done that it needed :doh

I've noticed since the last update I made in here mentioning how dead the forum was becoming that it does appear to have officially died off

Regardless, I can feel my mojo coming back slightly and being without a Terrano again, I'll need to pull some spares and spanners out and get Terrance roadworthy again.

Watch this space

Have you managed to resurrect Terrance yet Banshee, remember you were always tinkering with Terrance and others too.
