I've always kept a long running list of current issues and jobs that need attending too on Terrance. I've just added lots more to it that I found the other night when I went around and snagged the car again.

It's a right block of a list and to be honest it's the wrong time of the year for a lot of them :(

The most expensive purchase I'm going to have to make is new tyres but no way I'm going to throw a set of those at it until I know the steering geometry is sorted as there's no way I want myself with balding tyre edges on £500+ worth of new tyres.

I've got a nasty oil leak still that still appears to be coming off the back of that oil pump that I was struggling to get a pipe for, I thought the new one I had off Elt had fixed the issue but it seems worse now than ever :(

There's so many more, it just feels exhausting sometimes, by the time I've got home from work I really don't have the energy sometimes to play with the truck, especially now the dark nights have arrived, here come the winter blues!!! :(

It gets you like this with a project truck. Sometimes just seem so over faced by it all. Have a break for a while zac and recharge your batteries mate.

Last night was warmer than the night before so I forced myself to do a bit of work on the truck.

I climbed under and tried to deal with the oil leak first as I'm sick of having to leave the truck parked on a grass verge outside the house or always making sure I've got a wooden board down on the driveway. If you read a little further back I have recently replaced one of the oil pipes on the vac pump that I thought was the cause but now I'm wondering if it was even that pipe at all :doh

I'm still getting about 5-6 drips of oil without fail now every time I stop the car after a long journey, it's certainly the vac pump where the issue lies it's just finding where it's leaking from and it's a very tight dark area to work in. I think I'm going to have to get the steering box off again :doh I've removed all of the oily gunk from the steering damper, drag link, steering box etc now with some strong wipes last night so that identifying where the leak is originating from is a little easier.

I also removed what was left of the front anti roll bar, it seems that since I've fitted the steering damper, I have managed to snap off the end of the leg on the chassis that the "D" clamps attaches too. Got to weld repair that too for a 3rd time, just can't use my stupid pigeon shit welder :(

I've been busy at the front end of late with lots and lots of goodies for Terrance :naughty

I'd managed to explode a CV joint and the one that was hanging on for dear life was knocking and banging too, so I decided to grab a set of spares in the parts cupboard and do a full rebuild on them before gracing the truck with them.

Why do I get the feeling like I'm gonna have to get to grips with CV Joints because of this X-Trail! :nenau

Back in Action

Terrance is road worthy again but I'm far from happy with it still, hundreds and hundreds of jobs that still want doing but as it's moving under it's own steam again it will make me want to sort them even faster :naughty

Putting it straight back to work tomorrow and meeting uncle Elty deep in the depths of the Peak District with a trailer to recover a Terrano thats been in a barn for the last 4 years due to the torsion bar snapping :doh

3.0 too :naughty

Good news you’re back on the road again Banshee, you’re truck is far too good to let it go.
You going to tell us more about this truck that you are picking up?

Terrance is back:thumb2

Just in time for the wintery weather, if we ever get any:nenau

I bought myself a Bansheeotor, in the form of a fiesta, to keep mobile while the Turdano is off the road. Just waiting for the snow to come and go.

Popped to see James (terranobreakershropshire) today to grab some bits to fix the 3 litre I just pulled in. Got Elty on hand all day tomorrow and Uncle Blocky making a trip over too :naughty

Am I right in thinking this is your current steering setup, but now you have normal ties on?
