Snorkel Fitted
It's on :thumb2
So the snorkel is fitted now and was a little bit of a nightmare compared to fitting it to my '96 Maverick but nevertheless it's on and working.
So just for reference for anyone coming across this from a forum search wanting to know how to do this for the first time my car is a 2004 Terrano 2.7TDi Commercial with ABS and the inconveniently placed washer bottle :doh
For the record and I have pictures as proof NO AIR BOX MOD WAS NEEDED, I will also be providing a PDF downloadable template for those with the same snorkel as me however this only includes the hole for the snorkels intake of air but I will explain how and why this is the only thing needed.
So the first job was to cut the inner skin of the chassis for the connection of the snorkel pipe through the wing, we had to remove the washer fluid reservoir for this and we also removed the air box, at this point we also tucked the MAF out of the way and tied it up in a bag for protection.
Below is the picture of the airbox with the Samco hose that I use to connect the snorkel to the airbox, this is apparently the same hose used on the bubble shaped Focus turbo inlet but I can guarantee this.
The view into the engine bay with all of the bits removed after the hole had been cut
The Hole!!!! We gauged this by eye based on where my Maverick hole was
We then removed the wing which was a laborious process, a tip here for the later boys, remove the inner arch liner as it exposes 3 nuts which aren't visible without it removed, mudflap also needs to be removed, don't forget to disconnect the indicator bulb as well or you will rip the cable off.
An example of how much crap these arch liners catch!!!!

We then measured the hole needed for the intake pipe and made a little template for this which I will PDF and make available in the workshop downloads as well, I will link it back here when it is available too.
Once we had the template we lined it up with the other hole we had cut on the inner skin, once you have this cut with the jigsaw, hang the wing back on the car and hold it in place with the 3 bolts on the top of the body to keep it in place, you then want to put the bolts into the snorkel and dab some paint onto the end of them, offer the snorkel to the wing and push the intake through the wing the bolts will then touch the wing and transfer paint onto it thus giving you perfectly aligned holes to drill your wing.
We then put everything back together as per removal ensuring all plugs were back in etc etc and securely attached the hose to the snorkel testing it for water ingress with a hosepipe, no problems whatsoever :clap
The final product!!!!!
Hope you all like it
