I've had a nissan consult thingy from santa, so I'll go and stick that on the slap top today and see what it says.
I've got a multi meter but can I check with that by just reving the engine when not under load?

I'm struggling to get it to download successfully :doh
I've tried the Conzult software with the ECU reader thingy but cant get any readings:nenau
What does ECCS mean? It's not responding, whatever it is

Pete the converter is probably causing the problems. I've messed with a few of them when trying to get a serial connection. Some pieces of hardware don't like certain chips in the usb-serial adaptors. Also make sure the drivers for the converter are installed properly.

Have you got a laptop with a standard serial connection to test?

And have you got a link to the usb-serial converter you bought?

It should be straight RS232, no usb...

Yes but if he has no serial (rs232) connector on his laptop he will have to use a converter. Which he says he is.

No serial port on my lap top of the right sex:doh
So had to buy a usb-serial converter. Had grief getting it working so got the computer shop who sold me the thing to load the software. That is I think working .
I'll find the box in a min Fez:thumbs

I've been trying to use Conzult, but no values anywhere, just the error message ECCS not happening:doh
