Weird one, as you know my various issues ect ect.

The fuel was on red yesterday (almost) so i decided to put in 20L of diesel

we took her up the motorway just to the next juction, she didnt seem right but did manage to hit 85mph and although a short journey, no engine light came on. Unfortunately I didnt get time to diagnose yesterday eve, but we will do it today.

She is obviously more pokey running on diesel but still occasionally boggy from a standstill and generally boggy up to roughly 2.5k when it all boots in.

****one other interesting thing I have noticed**** when she is cold, it doesent do it!? only when it warms up :nenau:nenau:nenau

The be all and end all is you've ruined your truck and now it wants its bumpers back!!!

Sell up, move on :lol

Remember Bud, you'll need to run a good load of diesel through to clear out all the veg so it'll need time if the problems fuel related.

Also, just an observation, but you've now got at least three threads going, all dealing with the same issues on your truck :doh

For ease of people replying and giving advice and for members looking up in the future, would it not be simpler to keep them all on the same thread? :nenau

It would also make it easier for you to keep track of the responses, no?

I could be wrong here:doh sure bad running when warm/hot can point to a bad signal from the crank sensor:nenau might pay to check it with a multi meter if nothing else but to rule it out for peace of mind. I started a thread a few weeks back (code 21) which I put up the factory ohm readings & what I got when I tested my crank sensor & No1 injector all of which turned out to be working ok

Good point, I will test this.

And pointa taken again, yes it seems I have a few threads open

where is it, and how best to get a meter on it?

The crank sensor is on the top of the bell housing behind the cylinder head & the wiring for it comes around to the O/S of the engine & the plug is between the dip stick & the bulkhead area. To test just unplug the plug & put the multi meter on the connections to the sensor. Here my thread with the readings save you from doing a search http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23043&highlight=Code :thumbs

Thanks for that my dear, I will do my best to have a look later if I can borrow a meter.

After clearning codes last week we just plugged in and re-diagnosed codes.

This is the code we got again

You've killed it with e900:eek:

Nah, as the techies say at my work, usually with pumps they either tend to work or not, my old girl has got some mighty power to hand still, just the down low is boggish (still keeps up with traffic fine)

I also had 85mph again tonight and had to ease off for the traffic but no engine light on...

When I get time I am going to refit the fuel filter as I suspect (pray) that the filter may have been pinched.

My second and more tedious task is to get underneath her on Saturday and investigate every nook and cranny for mud in bad places :(:(:(

Oh and my third dodgy test that the mechanic found funny was to test this cps I will sit until misbehavior, stop, spray the hell out of it with brake cleaned making it very cold and immediately go again seeing if the problem is temp fixed :lol

Infact.. These are the symptoms I had when me and rick tested the maf, I've just realised... Not sure what this means though.

Surely I cant have killed my brand new maf

You could of if you covered it with muddy water & as you managed to fill your air box with there is a chance:augie You haven't managed to kick up some mud or a stone which could be restricting the movement of the actuator on the turbo have you ? After watching my boost gauge for a while now I was wondering if the actuator on mine was partly sticking so sprayed it all with WD40 & it seem to have increased boost lower down the rev range now & it feels smoother to drive:D last owner plodded about all of the time & the engine is just starting to loosen up

Well I don't think I was ever put on it...:augie

:lol:lol

I could never take you off the list rustic ol' pal ;)

Just out of interest, where does the fuel pump seal from? Is it the inside small hole or the outer lip at the top? There is very thin lines of mud around the top of my filter when I loosened it, I don't believe this to be the problem though.

I went out for some testing to see whats going on now the traffic is light. It seems to be completely intermittent, one minute it's going like a rocket through all gears, and the next on and off the power and slightly smokey when missing.

I turned the maf amp on too just to check, but with this on she really misses when you rev up.

Are you on about the fuel pump or the fuel filter here:confused:

What does this actuator look like? Is it a plain rod coming out visible from the top of the engine? Nearside?

Now with you:p the big black flat O ring on top of the filter is the seal just like an oil filter inside of the seal there will have been holes in the metal body of the filter & a large one in the centre for it to screw onto the filter housing these holes are the inlets & outlets just can't think off hand which ones are what:doh The actuator for the turbo is this pic is circled in blue & I sprayed WD40 where the red arrows are to help lube/free things up. At the back where there is the heat shield over the turbo if a stone got trapped in there it could restrict the movement of the actuator rod
(This is a 2.7TD engine not the TDI version you have but whats an IC between friends)

Wow, that's dedication, taking the engine out to picture the bits... Good Man:lol

On the filter, the centre hole is the input, and the little holes are the output.

What doesn't everyone take their engines out for pic's:augie:lol
Thought that was the case with the filter but just couldn't remember for sure as my brain has gone to mush after taking my pills:doh
