Regarding the water absorbency of foam you are correct, but having raked out pounds of solid mud from inside my chassis which also holds moisture, my feeling is that lightweight damp foam is better than heavyweight damp mud, also i will be spraying all the injection holes with underseal thereby limiting the water ingress hopefully, Rick

I hope you live to 150, but looking at the materials used, I don't think you need worry too much :lol

Nah do not want to live to 150, I creak enough now, in answer to earlier questions yes water proof foam is available from several manufacturers, Gorilla being one, another is ASPLI flood foam, Rick

But at least you can get the mud out relatively easy. Once that foam is in there thats it.

I'd dump lots of oiley stuff in there to protect it but thats it.

All the new shims and clips, there were no shims on mine and had a broken clip hence the need for these courtesy Nissan £28.00

Absolutely Jim anything to stop the Ali/Steel reaction, not too bad if changed regularly but I have resorted to to scaffold polls and sledge hammers to get wheels off that have been on a few years, Rick
