First job is to cut out the bad rear inner wing/floor sections and fit new metal, that is tomorrows job as need to start fitting out the rear storage area for all my junk, the rear sills and body mount can wait till later, Rick

with two shiny new ones, also removed the cam belt cover to reveal an aging belt so ordered one, looks like the cam oil seal could be weeping so will fit one as belt will be off, probably do the crank one as well, silly not to once it is all stripped down

Can't wait to see this one finished, can't believe everyone is jumping ship and getting a Patrol  :(

had to work today so not much time on truck, this is all I could manage till dinner was called, first time I have used SS wire for welding it's OK but at 0.8 it is a bit thick for body work, but will have to get used to it as have a big real of it, biggest problem is selecting the right glasses to focus correctly, Rick

yes just the same as mild steel wire does, but needs slightly different settings on the welder, took a bit of playing to get it right, hence the more lumpy welds to the left in the pic, Rick

I found that increasing the wire feed and decreasing the power slightly and using an argon/co2 mix gave me better results when welding stainless to mild steel.
Loving the project Rick:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

Did not take pics of the NS plate welding as you have seen it all before on the OS, yes Elty probably would give better results if I used a Co mix but Argon is all I have.

this is the start of the tool and kit storage, tools go in the slide out draws and boxes of screws etc will go on top, if it is raining instead of pulling the draws out I can fold the back rests down and access the front of the draes there, I would not normally carry the chop saw, at least with this motor I have the opportunity to sort it out before it goes on the road more usually it a swap over on the day so nothing gets assigned a proper home, I have got all my belts, seals, filters etc and waxoil and air operated sprayer, being delivered Monday, then it is full steam ahead, Rick
