nice work, things have turned out alright mate, for a change:thumbs does Sheila like it?

Sheila like it? Going off the decorating 'discussion' I would say she does. :lol
Really glad you got sorted quickly. I don't begrudge my taxes putting you in a 63 plate :naughty just think.. you'll have no MOT to worry about. Worth it for the peace of mind.

agreed :clap:thumbs plus, its OUR taxes - that includes the taxes Peter pays and Sheila, but that's a far more complex discussion for another time and subject.

Too true. I wasn't being funny. Ithink its marvelous how this help is available to those who need it.

Sounds like you have sorted it then Pete, and to boot you will be spending a lot less of your hard earned income on fuel, lets face it fuel is now a very significant cost, I just done a days work and fuel was £40 ouch, Rick

since Sheila retired , she was supposed to be part time , but they wont let her  , she probably works more hours now than before she retired ..... and gets absolutely hammered in tax because of it :( ... but now we hope motoring expenses are lower , perhaps she can afford to take it easier :D

big difference between the 18 mpg of the Isuzu and the supposed 55+ mpg of the citroen

New car worries

Well it looks like you will have a new set of car worries !

Kerbing those new wheels !

Parking dents form other careless door openers !

Chipping that nice new windscreen !

Getting the new carpets dirty !

Need I go on ?

Seriously though hope it meets your needs & exceeds expectations.

thanks mate , appreciate the good wishes , you can be the best driver in the world but its idiots that mostly cause accidents and damage .

We have the Xsara Picasso, 1.6 hdi 110 hp, boy it shifts, and on the Norfolk trip it does 55 + mpg, and thats at 70 mph + 10% lol... what ever the law allows:eek:

Great engine, 12500 miles between services, now done, close on 100,000 miles since new.
Doesn't use oil, still returns 55 mpg, have had 60 mpg at a constant 60 mph, when I thought I was going to run out of diesel as I got onto the motorway.

OK citroens are built to a price, lots of plastic, but loads of cubby holes to stash things.
The same engines are used clearly in Peugeots, but also in some of the Ford cars etc.

Bodywork is ultra thin, so watch those parking dents:eek:
But from a safety point of view, they are very safe, so I expect the same with the berlingo.

So I hope you keep in touch, I expect you will, as you have since you parted with the Terrano.
You have many friends on this site, ok, many of us have never met you, but that's what this club is about.:thumb2

Enjoy your new car:thumb2.

best regards,

Richard
(Rustic).

Pete, 56 mpg is fairly easy to achieve, I drove one of ours on the motorway to Stratford one cold wet morning and with the wind behind us and a steady speed the readout indicated 72 mpgs! But even if it was only 40 it's still twice as good st your trooper!

999 mpg

I saw 999mpg out of the berlingo.

Yeah that's on the overun down a hill.

My mates old Maestro used to record that - you get a distance input with no fuel flow 999 it's biggest whole number on the display when in current mpg mode!
