think that will be your diff unless the hub bearing is shot, but odd noise for shot bearing, unless it is completely dry and about to collapse, Rick

Ha , you just need to take the peg and cardboard off your spokes :lol

Well I removed the hub casing in hope that it would just be a piece of brake shoe fell off or something but no such luck :(

Whats the cheapest to go at first? Bearing or Diff and is there any way of testing either?

Thinking on it, I was doing some off roading recently and the rear wheels were bogged down and weren't gripping at all and the fronts were just spinning, could that indicate a diff issue?

Just stick a new axle on it if diffs broken. could be broken half shaft in that case easy fix

Well if it was bearing also, presuming new axle is ok that issue would be fixed with a new axle as well, now it's just finding one and you are probs the man to ask

now that is a thought, naff half shaft on a LSD! would have thought that it would have produced something like clutch slip as LSD slips fairly easy, ie revs not relating to normal road speed, Rick

This is starting to sound difficult lol, rear wheel drive when in 4WD isn't the best on my truck tbh when in the sticky stuff could this be related?

could well be, with a LSD I doubt the torque will be available to bust a shaft, so most likely your diff is foofed, if it is fitted from the front then easy change for another, no setting up, if it has the thin cover plate on the rear then change the whole axle, cncfabs is your man, Rick

Got any pics of what I'm looking for?

no need just look at the diff if it has bolts on the front then it is the front mount type, if there are bolts on the back it is this one, Rick

If it's bolted on from the front isn't this the nightmare one?

Is there any way of removing it and checking it for faults?

just pull the shafts, remove the prop and the bolts round the diff and it is out, you will soon see if it is foofed, and a replacement goes straight in, no setting up, Rick

CNCFabs how much are we talking for a new diff?
