Hi guys. My mum has a 2003 Honda jazz S. It's the most basic modal out their. It's got a cassette deck:rolleyes: we bought new. Been a good car, never let us down but we are having problems with it now. The gearbox is wearing heavily as in neutral there's a loud whirring sound unless the clutch is pressed. Input shaft bearing? Also in first it sounds like a strait cut rally box:eek: sounds awesome though lol :lol also there's quite a few leaks from the roof leaks and the floors starting to rot underneath. I've got fed up of constantly fixing things on it then it having another problem:rolleyes:

Anyway, we are thinking of possibly trading or selling it private. Mum would like a new car but there's nothing she really likes. Can't blame her. The new cars these days aren't nice. We were looking at new astras, ibizas and other new cars but there's nothing that ticks all the boxes, if I had my way I'd get her to buy a volkwagen amorok:naughty as I had a look at one the other day at a vw showroom. Mmmmmm:naughty:sly

So anyhoo..

We are looking at the last of the old style jazz. Mum likes the old style as it looks smart and does everything she wants it to do. Anyone else experienced these jazz problems? The car hasn't been thrashed either

This I'd what we'd like

where was the Jazz made that you have, UK? must be using crap metal, im really surprised its rusting at that age, or is the air really salty where you live?!

Whats wrong with Toyota? Auris is pretty cool, especially the new one...

although bigger than a Jazz, they are quite similar in looks...almost....

ok, it's rusting on the floorpan underneath, when dad brings it back, i'll try and get some pics of it

surprised it's having these problems, some of the problems are re-calls

i'll tell her about the toyotas, also both her and dad also liked the nissan qashqai/dualis

yeah the Quas is good, oohh,,,what about a JUKE?! i thing they are ace...

The Puke (sorry, Juke) is the latest abomination from Nissan. British built! Horrible.

I've heard of plenty of people having issues with the Jazz, including gearboxes but also PAS units. However, I like cars that cost less than a grand, so I have no realistic suggestions!

nah nah nahhhhhhhh its not puke lol, its a funky thing...come on!!

anyhoo, ok, what about a Mazda? Mazda 3 is nice, or a Mazda 3 MPS....hmm...? or Mitsubishi? Colt or ASX? errrr....what aboooouuuuttttt....aaaaa..........hmmm......whats the specification your mum wants? and dont say blue....

we are looking at the quashqui 'how ever its spelled:rolleyes: and they look quite nice, we need a economical car, that's stylish, 5 door, and a ok size boot to stick the dog in...midium sized dog:lol

mum and dad seem to like nissan, honda and vauxhall,

don't want anything french

the new seats look nice and also the the honda civic with its cool dashborad :D:D:D

aye, problem is we really like the jazz as it does everything but we don't like the new jazz, and a lat old jaz 2008 is to old...it'll of already of lost most of it's value, just been looking at the honda FRV

dont laff , but my mate stu has got a skoda yeti , nice car too :thumb2

Was going to suggest a Skoda as well, had an Octavia hatch from new for 10 years, bloody big boot it them and fairly reliable (had a few costly repairs in the last year, but until then it was good!)

Aye, dad and I want the octavia VRS but mum doesn't like skodas:rolleyes: we've actually contacted the guy I bought my terrano off of as he's a nice chap. He's going to have a look at cars he receives. He not runs about 3 Honda dealers  also he said that he was really happy he sold me the terrano. As I sent him some pics of it. He couldn't believe it was the same truck:)

Had my '04 Jazz 1.4 Sport nearly 3 years, love it! Never replaced a thing (apart from brake pads), 50 to the gallon on a run, 35 round town, group 3 insurance, low emissions, would have no hesitation in buying another. :clap

We loved ours, but it's just going to cost more then it's worth:(
