i've been told by Mum and dad to not tell anyone, but i can tell you guys, we are probably getting a 61 reg meriva, we've seen one close where my grandad lives in layburn, yorkshire and he's rung the garage and told them not to sell it, he's put a deposit down on it too, we will probably go down next weekend to see it, as for our jazz, we are going to stick some molyslip in the gear box and try and get it 'shifted':thumb2

good luck, the Meriva isnt a bad car at all. Our neighbours have an older one, and its been spot on for them. nice spec too. :thumbs

Hi we are still in Northallerton, had a drive of the 1.4 and it was so powerless. So we are going to look at another one that's turbocharged, and higher spec limited edition for £200 less. Probably tomorrow

not sure what my neighbours is, but i dont think its 1.4.

Stopped at little chef and making most of free wifi:D. Car was underpowered, and falsely described. Had to rag it's balls off to make it shift. Tbh, car I'd to heavy for engine:doh. 3,500 was what was written on website and it said there was a lot of optional extras. But the car had actually done 6,700 mile and was base model. Also it had wear and tear marks. Possible ex rental vehicle vauxhall had back?. But the meriva is an brill car. The other one we seen was 50 miles from our home and is a limited edition with all the options. And the turbo petrol engine :naughty

Our 54 plate Jazz had a noisy gearbox when we got it (cheap) my mate replaced a bearing in the gearbox (know problem that Honda now recognise) and fitted a new clutch kit.
Been fantastic ever since, will defo get a later one 08/09, best little car we have ever had.
Stick with the jazz:thumb2:thumb2

Well, we've now got a new car. A 61 reg vauxhall meriva exite limited edition. We are picking it up next week After everythings sorted out:D has a 1.4 TP engine. Goes like S**t of a shovel.

the gear box in our jazz is well and truly buggered, it makes a chattering/grinding noise in neutral and is very loud in 1st it chatters, as though the gears aren't meshing properly, but makes a noise in all gears..

sounds like a strait-cut gear box that you find in old vintage cars or rally cars the transmission has never had an oil change as dads machanic/friend says it's sealed for life, which i thought was complete bull poo:nenau:augie, i'll make a vid or 2 for you guys to see and hear of the transmissin noise

the jazz will be for sale:(:( i dont want it to go as i grew up with it:eek:

We are picking up the meriva tomorrow afternoon so I'll get you some pics. Also, I've just joined the vauxhall owners network:augie but don't worry, I won't be leaving you anytime soon. Is that a good thing:augie:lol

Nissan 4x4 is where I'm at:D
