I love bat 21s old troll. but I agree with you keep it as original as you can appearance wise. these are becoming very rare and yours is a very fine example 10 out of 10 mate.

do all this work bud and spend all your hard earned on it to upgrade all the running gear, suspention ,maybe a lift and slightly bigger wheels. beef up the steering for me:augie and any other interesting upgrades you can think of and ill buy it off you:lol:lol:lol even if its ten years away

That's the front end back together. Think I deffo need a new radiator tho but at least I can move her now to start the welding at the back

Don't know if it's the same rad as a 2.8 but there was one for sale here in France for 50 euros,seen others a bit dearer.

I've got to weld a plate in rear floor but underneath is a wiring loom. See pic - .
My problem is not sure what I can protect it with so that I don't cut through it with grinder or melt it with welder. Any ideas guys? Cheers in advance

Use a piece of steel to protect it from both. Don't go too heavy on the welding and check more regular than normal.

a plumbers soldering mat is what i use,
about 4-5 quid of ebay
good because they are flexible

If you mean to protect from accidental cutting , then simply move the loom. It all plugs in under the passenger seat. I'm running mine inside now anyway but it's easy for you to do.
Saves any worries in all departments :thumbs

You would think it's easy but the damn cable is route around the body lift. No way of getting the plug through. You could route the other end through maybe but still a pain in the ass.

Well no more welding until I get some gas as the clamp on the pipe is sh1t so it's leaked. I wondered why the welds were getting sh1t . Managed to get this bit done tho

After some anti rust primer, seam sealer and top coat

you can see in last pic where I need to finish last bit of welding then interior can go back together and I can start the wheel arches and sill.

It's been a few weeks since last update due to lack of gas for welder, so in the meantime I thought I'd treat the old girl to a wash and wax. I know it'll need doing again when work has finished but couldn't help myself

Thanks but I have them just not put the wiper arms back on yet, but I do need new blades for them.
With no mud flaps she won't stay clean. Im looking for new ones as mine are pooped, the metal brackets have rotted away
