Ive had a brand new liner fitted so not sure whats up with it:(

Thought I'd have a go at bodging the front wing today. Think I will save up and get a brand new one at some point.

I promise you that the wing is worse than pics show. I've had to leave a lot of bad metal in there or I would have had nothing to fix to:( . At least I should get 12/18 months out of it.

Hey Al, when I did my Patrol arches I went for rugged look and painted it with Protectakote, rollered it on which gave an appearance similar to that of a fresh tarmac road :D

I have thought about using that stuff but not sure if painting over it would work as the missus insists I keep the colour combo original. I intend to do a some research on it as I could do the sills with it aswell to hide the welding:augie

The inner arch under battery tray looked a bit ripe so thought I'd investigate and with the tray it's double skinned:-

it should be straight forward to fix with one plate underneath then weld second on top

Battery tray on the T2 was multi layered too. Would have been so much easier if it had been a bolt in tray though :doh
Keep it up :D

I have just been offered a sealey 150 welder with almost full bottle of gas and a reactor mask. It has only been used a couple of times. I can have a look at it 2mos.
I know what they fetch brand new but not sure what I should be paying for one second hand so any idea's please folk?

Well I got the welder, now to get some practice in before letting myself loose on the Patrol :)

Very nice, I got the same helmet too which also came with my sealey mig.

Looks in great condition! My one is pretty beat up.

It had only been used to make one section of racking then put in loft. The only problem I've had was the wire had some light rust so spat about so wound some off now spot on. I have managed to get a bit done today, not the best welding but I have not welded for 15/18 years.

I know it's not the best welding but once seam sealed and painted shouldn't be too bad and it'll be hidden anyway

Blimey you've been a busy boy, i do envy the "do it yourself" approach :thumb2

I would go with the roller effect bat21 went for, that looks badman!!

Got some seam sealer on and some hammerite before it rains again. Really slapped it on too.

Awesome!!!!! Keep it going mate, It'll be worth it in the end

It's coming together great, have you had the bumpers re chromed they look mint for a girl her age?:thumb2 I like a nice pair of bumpers:naughty

Thanks guys:D.
I am really pleased with how she is coming along. No the bumper was replaced about 8/10 years ago by the father inlaw with genuine Nissan part which I have polished regularly in my ownership. I had to replace the rear bumpers when I got her as they had rotted out.
I have not got a day off now till Sunday so hope the weather will be ok so I get put the front back together and hopefully start the welding in the back.

On another note we are sharing the Astra at the moment and today the bloody handbrake cable snapped:doh
