So I guess it's about time to start a build thread... Not that the build will happen over night. Just when time and money allow... You know how it is! :augie

So here's what I'm starting with, My 04 Nissan Patrol, 3.0 SVE Auto.

The plan is like many others, the addition of things like bigger wheels and tyres, roof rack, snorkel, winch and bumpers, a CB maybe? :nenau

We'll see how it goes!

I usually start by adding window tints, but the previous owner had already taken care of that! :clap

So another easy job to start.

Out with the old...

And in with the new...

An easily recognisable interface. :D

Hopefully it won't be too long before I can make a start on some of the other mods I'd like to do! :thumbs

It's a start bud :thumb2

Funny you start with the stereo, I've only just got round to changing mine :lol

Do you're front speakers next (mine are on the list) factory ones are notorious for failing (mine have) :doh

I suspect they may have already been done...

I was playing around with the stereo settings today, and they sound quite good... Not at all what I was expecting!

I'll pull a few panels and have a peak... I'll eat my hat if they turn out to be factory speakers! :lol

I put one of those cheep Chinese does everything just not very well things in mine, have to say has been quite good has reverse cam and links to dash cam etc also runs android so can do memory map. Only other thing I had to do was I still have the original electric Ariel and could not listen to music off road without bending the Ariel so I run it through one of the two switches I added in the blanking plates next to the difflock swith in the bottom of the picture. Simple £4 switch from Halfords.

Kind regards

Russell.

Yeah, my ariel is bent to, so its on the list for replacement.

I also have the plan to put in a switch to retract it... I'm sure older models did!? :nenau

I can't put it next to the Diff Lock switch tho, because I plan to move the Heated Seat switches there... It just makes more sense! :augie

Sorry for hijacking the thread but that's a nice start buddy :thumb2

I can help you out with winch bumper and rear bumper see in classifieds:rolleyes:

Hi Jay, I'm really liking the Pioneer install.
If I wanted to do the same, can you tell me the model no. And was it a simple fit?
I know the Nissan security system NATS runs through the radio stack, were there any issues with removing the old radio and cd components?
Regards
Davey

Just done mine bud, really simple just need a double din unit and a wiring harness adapter. No security system issues far as I know and that's it been in 3 weeks. You reuse the brackets off the old unit.

Good Morning Davey,

Here is a link to the Pioneer unit I have:
http://www.pioneer-car.eu/eur/products/sph-da120

It's a great stereo for the price... It has a "Captive" screen, so its very nice to use and looks great! The next range up uses a "Resistive" screen and you have to go right to the flag ship model in that range before you get to have a captive screen again!

Halfords have it in for £330 ish. You will also need an ISO wiring harness, Halfords have them too... About a tenner!

I had no issues swapping them over. :thumb2

Thanks chaps, really helpful.
I'm getting my supababe together at the mo Jay. Will ping some pics on.:thumbs
