Looking good bud and no ARBs is definitely the way to go :thumbs

Is that castor correction bushes? Tbh bud, I know Pedders probably told you that you definitely needed them but on a lot of 2" lifts they're not needed :nenau

If you're fitting yourself might be worth seeing if you need them first?

This is my 100th post! :clap

I wanted to make it an exciting one!

Need I say anymore? :naughty

Impressive mate :thumb2

Wish I had the dollar lying around to order that in one go :bow
Tell me what you do, I want to re-train

Git it fitted mate with plenty of before and after pictures, you can never have too many, really nice to look back on and really show what your money paid for :naughty

* Replace the word "Cook" with "Curtain Fitter" :thumb2

I'm lucky because the money I got from the sale of my Land Rover was all ear marked for the Patrol... It has all gone now. All other modifications will have to be saved for! :(

They came in with the kit and the kit came with a £94 discount... I think they were about £90, so its like getting them for free! :thumb2

I used ironman for my 2 inch lift and I was told it would not need castor correction and in some cases castor correction could cause more problems than it solved as the bolts pass through the bush very close to the edge. Mine is a bit flighty to drive on a motorway but in no way unmanageable.

Kind regards

Russell.

Thanks for the input ref castors guys.

I suppose all I can do is keep an eye on how it goes and at very least I'll be able to report back. :thumbs

Yeh like I said see how it goes without bud :thumbs

You'll know if you need them as you'll find you have very little self-centering on your steering!

Started tearing out the stock suspension at the rear of the Patrol today, ready for Monday when I've allowed myself a full day to finish the suspension lift! :thumb2

Here's a standard comparison photo... :naughty

At the start of last week I managed to find some time to do the suspension lift.

Here are a couple of pictures I took along the way.

Rear coils and springs in.

The ARB's are gone too! :naughty

Made a bracket for that rear brake set up...

I have yet to extend the brake lines or breather tubes...

And here she stands...

I'm chuffed to bits with how the Patrol looks so far... And she gets plenty of looks on the road! :thumbs

There is however a small snag... Two snags in fact.

The 1st...

Because of the wider tyres, Negative off set wheels and some wheel spacers the previous owner must of left on... I can't achieve full lock! :doh

I will try without the spacers :( first, then I'll remove my mud guards and as a last resort I'll start cutting the inner arches!

The 2nd is that, before fitting the coils I rang Pedders for advice.

The coils were marked up for the left and right as they were different sizes... I wanted to know if it was left/right as I sat in the car or as I looked at the car from the front.

They told me it was as if you were sitting in the car...

I did that, and the tight side of the car as you sit in it, ie the off side is noticeably higher than the left or near side! :doh

I'm going to have to swap em all round!

Looking good bud!

Unless you've fitted long travel shocks you won't need to extend brake lines or breathers bud, although be worth extending the rear one as it just goes up to the chassis crossmember :thumb2

Is there a big difference in ht n/s to o/s ? Mine settled pretty quick and now it's not noticable. You can get packing shims off Pedders (or make your own) to balance things out till it does settle.
Alternatively put on some weight :lol

Was there much involved in swapping out the springs and shocks as I shall be doing mine soon

It was simple enough.

I'd say, most complications came from bolts that needed undoing that hadn't been touched since the car was built! My advice is spray Plenty of Plus Gas (or similar) and let it soak in be for attempting them. I actually had to cut the bolt that holds the ARB to the gadget that engages/disengages it.

The front was much easier from a dismantling point of view, but the new coils I found took a lot of compressing before they'd fit in! Invest in a good pair of coil compression clamps!

Saying that, I'm a novice when it comes to mechanics and I managed the whole swap on my own! :thumb2

Yeh I found the radius arms didn't drop the front axle as easy as the rear dropped, I had spring compressors but instead of bothering with them I found a bottle jack between the chassis and axle opened up the space that tiny bit to get the spring in :thumb2
