precisely, I am hoping I have been making this mistake and it is as you say, dirty diesel! We will see though, I wont be 100% convinced until I have driven it a few mile and its leak free at the sump...!

I have replaced all the leak off pipes with new ones, those that weren't leaking were very brittle and dry, injectors two, three and four were all leaking.

I had oil all over my sump, thought engine oil until we sniffed it, realised it was v dirty veg oil mixed we muck off the block, was mistaken for engine oil by the techs at my work :D

man I hope this is my problem, I will be relieved that's for sure...:thumbs

....it MIGHT be fixed! I cant see anything on the sump etc. I have the drive home tonight so when home I will get my bright torch out and have another look. The leak off pipes are certainly dry, engine doesn't stink either so im starting to feel confident my leak is fixed!!:bow

just been out for another look during my lunch break (have travelled to work, then to the post office and back so that's about 6 or so mile) and its dry underneath, nothing at all!!

I'm really chuffed, though I cant believe it was as simple as that and I didn't even notice the leak when I did the glow plugs :/

I also cant believe how this fuel leak mixed with muck and oil to make it look completely like an oil leak, and completely threw me!!

anyway, thanks for everyone's help and suggestions - somebody did mention it could be fuel, which is what made me go check but I cant find who it was!
