Well these engines take A LOT OF $HIT before dying as i had a snorkel when i put mine in upto the roof & just above the dash on the inside

She lived to see another day
BUT
You may not be so lucky if the turbo sucked in water
Do the cheap easy things 1st as i said :thumbs
Remove the air filter & bin it
Remove the pipe off the front & inspect the turbo
Change the diesel filter
Change the oil & filter
Youve covered the basicis with little expense
BUT
If you get water in with the oil when changing then it wont be looking good...

With regards to fitting a snorkel
The easiest & cheapest way is to go through the outer wing & match it up to the hole already in the inner wing.
Use guttering or go to a exhaust or roll cage manufacturing type place to get e nice pipe done :thumbs
