back from collecting it, bit of water damage where one of the seals has gone but nothing major, and considering we paid £0 for it it's a bargain
or above the front window.
exactly where it is, spotted it as soon as i saw it, they have tried to use black sealent to cure the leak but he said in winter the cold kept cracking the seal, i've had a look inside and by the window the wood has gone a bit soft and peeling so will get that replaced then will seal it with melted tar
well this is going to be a project to do til i can pass my towing test thingy, something the kids can have input into aswell, for our first tin tent we are very pleased
Might not need the tow test thingy. As long as the train weight (the gross weight of the car,ie kerbweight plus max payload) and the max laden weight of the caravan are under 3500 kg then no extra test needed
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/CaravansTrailersCommercialVehicles/DG_10013073
Category B vehicles may be coupled with a trailer up to 750kgs MAM (allowing a combined weight up to 4.25 tonnes MAM) or a trailer over 750kgs MAM provided the MAM of the trailer does not exceed the unladen weight of the towing vehicle, and the combination does not exceed 3.5 tonnes MAM.
For example:
•a vehicle with an unladen weight of 1.25 tonnes and a MAM of 2 tonnes coupled with a trailer with a MAM of 1.25 tonnes could be driven by the holder of a category B entitlement. This is because the MAM of the combination does not exceed 3.5 tonnes and also the MAM of the trailer does not exceed the unladen weight of the drawing vehicle
Not sure of the weight of your caravan but worth checking
Brian
unlaiden its 678kg i may give the dvla a ring tomorrow and enquire about it
dont ya hate the way they screw more money out out of ya
I've met a lot of people who have taken the extra test so they can tow caravans or horse trailers who didn't have to.
Stupid law anyway just bought in to make money.
