Great. Did you take a height measurement before?
Sure did bud :thumb2
Great. Did you take a height measurement before?
Today I have also adjusted my front wheel bearings, quite a bit of play in them I thought but I haven't noticed any noise difference :nenau
On the n/s one the yellow paint from the factory check over one of the locking plate screws was still intact, so I can only assume this is the first time it has been adjusted :nenau
I know I have said this many times before but taper roller bearings need a pre load, "the inner race turns if not and wears the nut so making the play worse", so adjust the nut till no play then a further quarter turn max back of slightly to line up screw holes, Rick
I'm glad you said it again Rick, I remember you telling me something about this in wiltshire but forgot the specifics, I will re adjust them accordingly.
Just for clarity, adjust till no play then tighten the disc/plate/nut a further one quarter of a turn, then if necessary back it off a fraction to line the locking screw holes up?
You got it in one, Rick
Is it torsion bar day today? :naughty
Sure is baby Going to jack her up now and have a fettle:thumb2
New springs are good so far Ian, they handle bumps better than the old ones, but I think they were shot, they were sagging at least an inch as these bad boys have raised my rear by 3inch
All done and not even a scraped knuckle, which is unusual for me :lol
Everything came apart quite easily and went back together nicely
I've set the bars so the front is level and a bit lower than the rear and the combination of re-indexing torsion bars and new rear lift springs has made an improvement to the drive :thumb2
I'm off t costco for me veg oil and then to the east coast for a drinkie, I will re-measure and take pics tmoro but I think the last measurements were 910mm at the rear and 880mm at the front. It doesn't look too high, about right infact, I'm pleased for now :naughty
Ha ha. Hung over:lol
Looks good T-Doug. What does the camber look like now? Come on, crawl round there with a sick bucket:augie
