Glad you had a good time dave - sorry I didn't get down, had to go down early to sort a little domestic crisis and ended up breaking an alternator belt and throwing the power steering pump belt on the Merthyr bypass :doh

Still, definitely trying to make the 8th Aug beach party!

Was good, now I've just got to survive work until our the week off in August ;)

My Terrano decied to be silly and two of the breather or leakage pipes whatever they are on the injectors started leaking badly so everywhere I went I left a trail of vege oil (at least it didnt smell like diesel :augie )

Quick trip to Weston and a few quids worth of bits sorted :thumb2

thats odd , mine did the same thing. i just thought mine had gone weak in time,,, maybe its linked or they are under more pressure with svo

Morning, I dont think so. It was the short ones on the engine block, when I tried to pull off the none leaking end it disintegrated much as my neighbours did on his astra van, I guess they were the originals. The one that goes down to the fuel pump was in fine condition. Good point though.

I bought 2 metres of hose to make sure I had enough so its in the boot for next time :lol

was it the spill pipes, the ones that link the injectors, thats where mine did it
mine were the old ones too, but the svo prob just pushed them over the edge

I usually run about a 75/25 Bio/dino diesel mix during the summer and more like 60/40 in the winter, not a precise science but approximately. Anyway, twice now when we've had a particularly cold morning I've had the MIL light come on and performance drop off, not exactly a limp mode drop in performance but noticeable all the same. Whe I read the error code it was Lift Needle Sensor, I'm assuming that the thicker fuel on cold mornings doesn't allow the lift needle sensor to work properly. One to be aware of, for all you TDi owners (don't think the TD has the lift needle sensor).

Gave up doing the SVO thing as its too expensive and too much hassle. 2 years ago it was well worth it but I'm buying bio at 91.9p/L which is 78p/L before VAT and I pass the place anyway and don't have any of the hassle of plastic bottles or cans etc to empty and get rid of, they also sell dino, though the price has just gone up to the same as everywhere else where previously they were cheaper on that too.

Yes it was those that link, then theres a long one goes back to the top of the fuel pump presumably to put the fuel back into the system.

Theyre a weak spot on many diesel engines I'm told :thumb2

The majority of us cant get diesel at anything like that price of course so the svo cost makes it tremendous value for money.

Its no problem at all binning the 20 litre containers. My newest bezzy mate the scrap man takes the metal drums no problem at all and the plastic ones squash flat and go in the recycling bin. On the camp site they have skips.

Put in context using svo from Makro for our recent 2 week jaunt if I say I used 3 full tanks of fuel I saved at least £75.

That's a lot of holiday pocket money for beer and ice cream :thumb2:thumb2

Did you use a preheater ?

No not using a pre heater.

Why can't you buy bio diesel at that sort of price, there must be someone your way that sells it.

Theyre readily available for the money you'd save on one fill up and according to users do make one hell of a difference for a small gadget.

If I could find them I'd buy it :thumb2 seems ironic when we have the Bio Fuels refinery a stones throw away.
