Looked at prices on Milners, the ujs are reasonable but the front shaft is rather costly
No need for a full prop if it turns out to be shot UJ's

Just read above, if Clivvy doesn't think it's that don't waste your money just yet, go for a wheel change and see what happens then
It is the most likely scenario.don't take my word for it, the UJ's is a good suggestion well worth looking at anyway.
One point to note, the vibration seems to get worse the faster Jim went, but I cant quite remember if that was due to the "turning" of something, or just general road speed, point being the UJ's could still be the issue?!
Had a very kind offer to give me a hand with it tonight so the favour bank is a little overdrawn by now. So should have some news later tonight. It is defo related to speed. To be honest I felt so uncomfortable with it I haven't taken it much above 60 anyway. Once shaft removed and proven culprit then I'll leave it off for a while until I get the shaft repaired at least I'll be able to use the truck.
Front prop shaft UJ, good call Rayf :clap:clap
Many thanks to bigbunny :clap:clap
Propshaft removed and drives fine now so she's a 2x4 for a while until we have time to sort it out.
good news issue located.
by time read whole thread others had suggested what was thinking
was going to say for test purpose undo at diff end and tie it up out of way
to save full removal for testing elimination of judder.
as if kept in 2wd would be isolated, but gather off now atleast can service it,
Would be fine if auto hubs, but if fixed hubs, the prop shaft would still be driven via the front diff.:thumb2
...The reason I think its something turning, the drive shaft or prop shafts...

I offered to send him a set of Auto hubs out in the post way back on page one which would have also sorted the issue
Do I get any credit :nenau :lol
NO! There are 12 bolts, 6 a side to fit auto hubs, but only 8 to remove the front prop shaft....:doh
:lol:lol
Also there is cost involved in your diagnosis, (postage) you know we like to do things as cheap as possible on this site...:lol
OK it would have also helped, so some credit due.... (but not much) :lol
Rustic
The cheek!!!!! I was offering to post them at my expense as I could tell Jim was desperate to get this sorted lol
:lol:lol
I love our banter on this site.:thumb2
Great club:thumb2
It's one of the best I've been on :thumbs
Makes me giggle infact I'm in tenerife on holiday's and still have a look to see was up as I've still got that noise between 50 and 60 and I see it may well be my front ujs
sadly this wont cure mine as I have not got the flanged hubs so diff and prop don't turn until 4wd is engaged on transfer box.
got wheel bearing on order which should be here for weekend that im hoping will cure mine.:nenau
failing that the stereo goes louder:lol:lol
