Which motor shop do you use?

Can't be too far from me so might go and get a pair as they are far better than my holders.

Those bulb holders are the same as the sidelight holder from the round head light terrano. Think I have a spare pair in my shed and thats just a 501 sidelight spade bulb. Jobs a goodun

Thats what I've been thinking too and don't know about yours but mine have become brittle and cracked

looks good, quite a few done something like this over years.

my thought though is i like a brake light that is just that so nothing to 21W
of light, and maybe having 5W already there slightly reduces impact.

so i'd look at extra tail lights away from brakes, maybe on roof or door or
at top of rear window.

noting lots of ambulance, or patient transport type conversions have some
neat led mini clusters at top corners, tail and usefully indicators. draw back
is more complicated wiring runs.

extra though, how boring must suv light clusters are atleast those with rear
spares as compared to pickups and suvs with spare else where....

Distinction between side and brake light is summat I worried about actually bud, I had someone sit in and press brake on and off with my practice lens fitted to truck. There is a very noticeable increase in output and combined with the high level brake light there is no room for confusion for whoever is behind me lol. I am really really pleased with the way this mod turned out and I don't give high praise too easily, advice I would give to anybody considering doing it though is not to use more than a 5w bulb :thumb2

i did this mod about 4 months ago i bought some 501 bulb holders of ebay and some 501 capless bulbs drilled round hole with one notch and all works well i think the holders were about £4.00 inc p+p and came with twin cable tail about 6" long:thumb2

Ok, so this is my PRACTICE LENS :lol the ones on the truck are a bit tidier and situated directly under the stop bulb where the other hole is in this pic.

I drilled a 10mm hole and filed it slightly wider so the bulb holder was a smooth light friction fit, then I heated a screw driver and made the two slots you see, tidy up with a file or a blade and done. It also looks like the nissan logo :D

Had a couple hours spare so fitted a pair of high level side lights one end and replaced a perished vac pipe the other :clap
Drilled and hot screwdrivered the holes as per Doug.

These are front side lights from a scrap Clio. 13mm holes needed.
A little longer than I wanted but fits ok :thumb2
Just need to wire them up and fit a couple of fresh bulbs.

I haven't wired then in yet! How and where did you connect to the wiring?

No no no...... don't panic.:nenau It's fine. I've done it :clap
I'd stick a photo up but I'll wait till it's dark :thumb2
