Hi I think I'm in the right section. Been having steam coming out the blowers spoke to machanic he thinks it's the heater core but he's otherwise engaged at the maternity ward.I've been doing a bit of research :loland it says as a temporary fix I can bypass it so it's not leaking it means no heating but at least it's not leaking. The passenger side carpet is soaking by the way. There's no way I can buy a new one at this time of year so any help would be appreciated. :thumbs

yes locate in out hoses and clamp then to stop water going through,

First i would taste the water soaked into the carpet. Antifreeze has a sweet taste. As long as there is antifreeze in the system you will know.
That's a lot of work to replace the heater matrix so make sure.
The cover in the scuttle which gives access to the wiper motor is known to let rain water through to the footwell. Could this maybe make it's way onto the matrix? :nenau

Yes it's a sweet smell.my neighbours just been and took the pipe off and put it so waters just re circulating around the engine so it's not leaking in the car so going to be cold in the car for a bit .but at least no steam coming out the vents .hope he knows what he's doing :lol

How do I attach pictures so I can show you what he's done?

It's a small picture you've uploaded so can't see much without it going fuzzy.
If he's taken the pipes off the bulkhead and joined them it'll be fine. :thumb2

Thank God for that as she's just gone out in it lol.she loves it more than me :lolI'll be in bother when she sees this ha.

:lol :lol

I was confused :doh

Yeah Rick will be along later and should have the part you need I reckon, I'm afraid to say that it's a slightly involved job though, I believe it's a dashboard out job to do the matrix but I can't be sure as I've not had to do one first hand :bow

Haha, like this confusion.

It's not illegal to drive without heating. You are going to suffer steamed up windows until it all dries out though. If you can park your truck on a driveway so that you can run a mains extension cable without causing a danger then I would be sticking a fan heater in to help dry it out.

If you open passenger door you'll see the trim on edge of carpet known as a kick strip where the door closes. This has some plastic screws which can be a pain to remove but will come out. Try removing this trim which will allow you to lft the carpet up a but too. Try putting some towels or old newspaper under the carpet to help it dry out.

Also water coming into the passenger footwell can be other reasons so keep an eye on it just in case.

Once you get the matrix sorted you'll really love and trust the truck and I can honestly say that my original truck that I have owned since 2002 has served us well and probably saved my wifes life.
