Originally Nissan sealed the whole bell housing/starter/bottom cover plate etc with silicon sealant, but after 18 or so years the rubber seal over the clutch fulcrum arm will have deteriorated to the point that if fording it will let water in, and if the clutch has been changed then the seal will have been broken box to engine as well, so I would not worry, Rick

Not on mine Rick, remember how much sealant I used after I did my 3 litre clutch swap lol!!!
