Ahh! good mikey, you can pull me out when i get stuck !! it's goto happen some time!  Not wanting to be a pest hummingbird! any dates yet??

Hay Cosmic. They say if you don't get stuck you've not tried hard enough and if you do get stuck you've not done it right. I'll be happy to pull you out but remember, what goes around comes around and I may need you to return the favour. See you on the greeny.

Where abouts are you thinking of ?, my young lad and me would love to go.

Any time mikey,,but you'll have to show this lane virgin how!!    BigG! just waiting for hummingbird to name the date pal,i would imagine it's not easy orginising one of these meets and liveing a normal life as well :p

Not at all BigG can't be easy getting all this planned,i take my hat off to anybody that's doing it!! I mean they are planning it and not getting paid, they should be getting free drinks at the bar all night!!  -wor- -welldone-

I'm interested in coming along if you'll have me  but could someone let me know what sort of time the laning would start & poss finish as I can't stop down there over night because of our little zoo & that dose'nt inclued the kids  So it would be a 1 day round trip for us

Would be looking to start at about 9.30 each day, if you're coming on a aily basis I can let you know the route and what CB channel we'll be on so you can find us if you got caught it traffic etc.

Still working on a campsite, a few don't seem to like the idea of a group of approx 10 which is what I'm booking for at the moment. Narrowed the weekend down to the last weekend in sept, first in oct.

Sorry I'm going to have to pull out of this due to unforseen circumstances.

I may have my 8 yr old son with me as he's a real ORTAL (off road tag along). Will there be any other children of his age? I read earlier their may be some very young children as well.

I've settled on the last weekend in September so thats 28/29/30, but have moved a little further south to Nidderdale, have spoken to 3 campsites that are getting back to me so one of them will take us hopefully, they don't seem to like the group thing - if not I will decide on a site and then everyone will have to book individually.

Anyway Nidderdale as some of you will know means Pateley Bridge, which means good beer, good fish and chips, award winning pork pies and the oldest sweet shop in the country. The routes I have in mind will take us near Hawes (home of the Wallace and Grommit Wenslydale), Masham (home of Theakstons and Black Sheep), Malham just a short diversion. Jervaulx Abbey and their neighbours Brymar Icecream - which has to be tasted to be beleived - but hey thats the touristy bit which you're all welcome to do if you like but the point of the trip is the lanes.

Now I haven't done them all myself but good friends have done some of them very recently and I went up for a recce today - and have we got some lanes for you, some really short smooth bits and some really long moor top stuff, plus for those that want it theres a couple of fairly challenging stuff and at least one that is definitely not for shinies but they can go round no problem.

So I could do with some numbers ASAP, need to know if you're bringing a tent or a caravan and if you want electric hook up and how many adults and children will be in your group.

Kids wise we've already established that there will be babies/toddlers around but in answer to Mikey's question my Sister will be along with her brood, I mean kids, they're 7,8 and 10 so really I think all ages will be fine.

Hi hummingbird,i'm off that weekend,so you can put me down for a definate,i'll just bring the tent though!so no hook up for me,and i'll be bringing my eldest who is 8.I'll be leaving after my work about 4ish so should get down there for about 7ish at the latest!
So thats 1Adult 1Child,Tent(No hook up)!
looking forward to it!!

That's in my diary, sounds great. I'll be bringing my wife and son and tent. I'm assuming we'll be going back to the same campsite on the Saturday night.

So, 2 adults, 1 child aged 8, 1 tent, no hook-up.

We'll be leaving about 4 ish, from Berkshire. Depending on traffic (it being a Friday) we'll be there between 8 ish and 3 in the morning.

Oh Cosmic, I'll bring my rope !!!

Mikey

Anyone requiring maps for this weekend I can get them at 15% discount but will need to buy them en-mass.

1:50,000 OS Landranger we'll be using are 98 and 99

not sure about Explorers but will find out.

Landrangers are £5.94 instead of £6.99

and

Explorers are £6.79 instead of £7.99

Anyone requiring other maps whether coming or not let me know I can post them too for the cost of the stamp,m but as I say I have to be buying a few at a time not just the odd map.

Will look for some maps tommorow, and maybe get a few things for the laning, anybody got any ideas what i should be bringing,Tow rope etc. I'll see if i can get some better tyres on the T2 before it!!.
And will bring my "L" Plates.. -rotfl- -rotfl- (that's the wifes idea!!) -rotfl-

Cosmic my wife's got a set of L plates if you want to borrow them -rotfl- -rotfl- A good tow rope is always handy or better still a tow strop. I must get a new one as my tow rope is rated for 2 tonnes

Maps aren't essential but most people like to follow where they are going, I for one find I remember the route and lanes better if I've followed them on a map,

Tow ropes wise, if you've got them great, but I'm sure there'll be enough people coming who have for it not to be an issue. Anyway unless theres an absolute deluge between now and then (in which case I'd reroute anyway) theres next to no chance (famous last words) of anyone getting stuck on the lanes I have in mind.

You have not had me on your lanes...! -rotfl- -rotfl- -rotfl- -rotfl-
I'll throw same things together!! Only thing i will need is a pitch next to a fence or something like that ,so i can secure my trailer to it!!
Are you coming down sweety??
I'll be coming down the A68 onto the A1 to get there if your going down??

Sadly we won't be able to make it  Due to family reasons & our little zoo, plus we dont have a caravan or a tent or even a roof rack yet to carry a tent because as you know not much will fit in the back of my T2
But on your way back home Steve your more than wellcome to call into ours 8)

Actually. I'm coming up. And stop calling me sweety !!!

HA HA HA
