if i was an insurance company id be a bit uneasy about greenlaning due to more likely hood damage although not realy the kindve dammage theyd cover i thought the other day i was about to take side outve my truck only side steps held me off bank if itd slid any more i was going 30ft down no stops inbetween dont think my insurance would have fancied my claim !

I can get down to Yorkshire in about 4 to 4.5 hours... If the date is right I could probably make that.

HB are we using the date from my earlier post for this trip,as nobody has suggested any other .We seem to be getting off topic.Regards Dinky

Sorry John been rather busy over the last few weeks, I'll tell you more when I see you next. I'll finalise a date and site out ASAP

I was about to try to finalise this but I notice theres discussion about a meet 13/10/07, I was thinking about either 8/9 Sept, 29/30 Sept or 6/7 Oct, anyone got any preferences?

8/9 are no good for me,got wheels in the woods up here!! other dates in sept and october fine by me,can someone tell me where about this is going to be,nearest large town/county?? thanks

Until I have confirmed the date with the campsite I'll just say Wensleydale, theres not really a major town but somewhere ion the region of the A684 around HAWES and Aysgartrh.

Simon October is fine for me ,as long weekend off work fri /mon. John

8/9 Sep no good for me, but as not laning, don't worry about me. If I can make it I will come just as support.

Ok, know now where it, looks great, should only be 2 to 2 1/2 hours drive, will bring the tent instead of the van(quicker!) Just name the dates and i'll be there, do you have any probs with the kids coming?? and i haven't got round to changing my tyres yet, will that be ok (just road tyres!) :eek:ops:

Kids no problem at all, my 8 month old girl will be with us, so we'll need the occasional "nappy stop" when out greenlaning. Don't imaging that the conditions will be bad so road tyres will be fine, they'll get you a long way you' be surprised. As long as theres 1 or 2 trucks with AT's or MT's on just incase we'll be fine.

29/30 sept (near my birthday) or 8/9 Oct please. If other babies are coming I might bring the little one

Amy will be along, she's been green laning more times than she's had hot dinners - arh I see the flaw in that - ok she's been out laning lots.

Ruby has never been green laning just like her Gran so we'll both be first timers 8O Amy can show us the ropes

I'll also be a greenlane virgin,so go easy please... -rotfl- -rotfl-

Assuming we get enough takers, the plan is to run 2 or more groups. I've checked out the legality and viability of all the routes in mind but haven't personally driven them.

Will arrange the groups as to capability and scratchability, I'll take the first group through each lane and if its too scratchy or difficult then we can radio back but from what I'm told that shouldn't be an issue but a lot depends on the weather and the unknown (fallen trees aren't unknown for instance).

ooo! there you go and say that dreaded word""SCRATCHY""

Joking aside,,if its not the 8/9th of sept you can count me in!! 8)

Scratyness wise - my sister and bro in law (a few of you have met him) will probably be along (with 3 more kids) in their LWB defender CSW, which HAS to stay shiny as its used by them as a minibus for the kids nursery they run so rest assured there will be provisions made for shiny motors and anyone who wishes is free to turn back or not start any bit they want but I'll endevour to make sure that won't be necessary.

Yeah, I like the sound of this trip. I have both dates free at the moment so I'm a yes. I have done some greenies and off road courses, my Navara has proved very capable. I have AT's and tow ropes (no winch).

Mikey
