I guess he's lead booting it around town in sport mode :lol
Probably never gets out of second. That's the down side of autos I think, esp for me as a petrol head right footer:augie

Having had two autos and two manuals I can tell you the difference in consumption is negligible, mainly cos the auto is geared differently....3000rpm at 90 instead of 3800 on the manual.

So would my earlier guess of a major fault then for round town mpg maybe correct?:augie

I used to run a used car sales pitch many moons ago, and we used to get send government data on fuel efficiency as we were supposed to be able to answer these type of questions if people asked.

anyway - many (of not most) of the autos on the charts were listed as MORE economical than manuals, and that was 20 years ago, so with modern autos i can assume this has only got better.

that surprises me, I always thought the opposite was true....in fact if the auto gearing was the same as the manual, it would defo be worse on fuel...

Ummmm I'm losing the plot a bit here...how do you go from 110 miles on half a tank to 400 miles on a full one? :nenau

yes must be the heavy foot :( and i do put it in sports mode but didnt think it was that much diff on fuel consumption will have to start being twinkle toes :thumbs

no you must have been doing something else I'm sure. I struggle to get down to 150 miles on half a tank when towing a loaded twin axle trailer at speed....and thats with a Tunit fitted as well.

My general driving style is best described as what the police manual used to call 'pressing on' :naughty and in all my years and four trucks I've never ever got anywhere near that bad a consumption......

no mate thats it a lot of short trips though :nenau

I did that on my last fill ups, right to the top of the filler, then i ran it until i dare and i got about 410 miles on a full tank, then when i filled it back up again it took 67 litres, working out at around 27.5mpg which isn't bad to say the flexi on my front exhaust was blowing....thats fixed now though so i will see what i get out of it on the next top up

yep, you'll struggle to get more than 67-68 litres in even after running on red for quite a while.....if you don't have one, stick a K&N 57i induction kit on - little bit easier engine breathing and at least 2mpg extra so pays for itself very quickly.

Lots of acceleration, braking, and sitting in traffic. Bad for mpg's.

I'm going to mix in SVO but I cant determine what make the pump is. The MAF has a few numbers on it but no makers name. Any help please. David

Hi guys, i took the plunge today and filled up with bio.

There is a company local to me that makes it and sell it at 95p per litre and i reckon i saved £22.00 on a full tank....only thing now is the guy said he can only sell it to me in future if i buy it from him in containers rather than pouring straight into my motor....

Thats a bit odd

Did you take any notice of the colour & or the number of it

Our local bio station fills you up out of the can for £1.039 or by 25ltr containers for £0.899 for off road / farm use :thumbs

Hi adz, it came out of a petrol pump, but its not a petrol station and it looked and smelt like diesel and it wasnt red.....lol

Just seems a bit odd unless its a form of tax or vat dodge or selling Ltd Quantities :nenau

It should be a shade darker than white :thumbs

You'll have no problems on running & more spare cash :thumbs

Hi all, just thought i would pick your brains again on this matter...since i filled up on bio the startups seem a little more smoky...

Also I came out to my T2 this morning, a little ice on the windscreen and the motor really struggled to start is this due to the bio, should i try mixing it with some diesel will this help?

when cold you need a bit o diesel..

summer is fine, I run 100% vegie then. but at the mo 2/3 to 1/3

where you get your Bio from?
