The bolts as such came to just over £180 the suspension bumpers and the rear axle coil spring seat rubbers made up the remaining £130.

Obviously I would have prefered to spend less money but in the grand scheme of my project £180 is not to bad.

As Rustic already said, I too have had some other bolts from various stores but when torqued to the right setting for the bolts they replaced the heads sheared off or the bolt itself snapped in half.

Grade or tensile strength. 8.8 being the industry base. Also 10.9, 12.8.

Installed the rear axle yesterday. Unfortunately the colour of the baby blue coil springs is not really to my liking but I am not going to paint them.

Started on the front axle today but the rain decided differently.

I love this thread & think at the end you should wake a new thread up with all the picys from start to finish so we can see it step by step without all the banter

Made some more progress today. Not bad at all to be working outside in this weather.

Started the day with installing the front suspension coil springs, front shock absorbers and other bits 'n' bobs. With everything installed the next job on the list was to torque all the bolts on the front and rear suspension.

The car at the beginning of the day.

Thanks guy's for the encouraging words. I will definately keep the photo's coming. Later in the week it will get funny as I will be attempting my first go at MIG welding.

The Dinitrol underbody wax is used to coat the fuel tank and the cavity wax is for the inside of the chassis rail.

At the moment there are still three crossbeams on the chassis which need to be painted. The reason why I left them bare is that the chassis was resting on concrete block when the axles were removed so I couldn't reach these crossbeams.

Once most of the work on the car has been completed I will paint these as well. At least now I don't damage the paint when I need to jack up the car/chassis.
