@Rustic,

When fully cured it should be 'hard' but still a bit flexible so it has more resistance to stone chips.

today I could handle it with no problems. Only the seems where it is harder to dry were a bit wet still. The top of the tank was nice and dry.

@Makeitfit, Thanks for posting the piccie with the chassis the right way up.:thumbs

Well today was the day were I finally got round to practice some welding. I have bought a sheet of 1.2mm mild steel for the various repairs that need to be done on the car. To practice I cut a section of and practised welding.

I have to admit it didn't disappoint me, however I am sure that there is a lot more to learn and the following photo's will attract some critisism. All advice is greatly appreciated.

First photo is of the set up. I am running a Portamig 185 and it is on a cart so it is a little bit easier to lug around the outside of the house.

what you going to be welding? you will posiblt find it harder than you think to weld rusty metal as it just disapears if the welders set too high.. its not like doing the runs on new steel.. but dont be scared its only harder not undoable..

It needs some work done on the wheelarches and the doorsills. Fortunately there is good metal to weld with as the rust patches will be cut out. :thumbs

Amazing and very well done so far:bow:bow:bow

Would love to have the balls to do this myself.

PM Bat21...

The 4WD Club is what it say's it is & the people who run the site own & use 4x4's where as the same can't be said about this forum :(

This club for the Terrano & Troll is the best in the UK when the right people are online to help or advise but if like me your interested in doing stuff then this site is a let down & that's a shame :(

You need correcting.

People on here DO use 4x4s and as far as "doing stuff" it is not let a let down, the variety of conversations stop it becoming tedious.
