When is the lakes trip? Im seriously considering organising another welsh weekend here, will need to catch some more sheep first. Don't want it to clash.

That sounds good, could be interested in that ;)

That's good, I was thinking around late summer. Still early days but would love to get out again it's been too long.

Me plus one if there is space for a small one.
I'll start saving now for the fuel bill:eek:

Forgot to mention, I put in an aftermarket intercooler as my factory one was leaking out the seams (they use crimped ends which end up leaking over time).

Noticed the trademark oil marks on it when I did the glowplugs a while back and performance had seemed to drop a little of late so decided to fit a replacement.

I would have got a much larger upgraded one but didn't have a spare £900  so I just went for a slightly chunkier tig welded cast alloy one (no crimped ends!) :thumbs

Decided to leave the engine cover off too, not convinced it provides much benefit :nenau

Performance seems back to normal if not slightly better :D

(And yes I know I'm needing to give the engine bay a clean!)

I am in this exact same situation with mine at the moment!
I have had prices for a bespoke unit tig welded etc. £450
Where did you get yours may I ask? Does look good to.:thumb2

Likewise, left the cover of of mine to. I've found the nice chunky bonnet gasket still makes good contact with the intercooler body.

I got mine from an Aus seller on ebay for about £300 inc delivery although it then got stung for almost £100 worth of customs charges :(

Listing is here although the price has gone up slightly http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271960778100?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

There were others slightly cheaper but they used the factory bolt on outlet pipe and I wanted it all in one piece (less points to leak!).

Yeh the bonnet scoop gasket seems plenty chunky to contact the intercooler on its own and I'm sure the engine cover must have an insulating effect on the engine when in place - why increase the cooling requirements?! :nenau

I agree about the engine cover, and it's not an ugly engine to look at either.
£100 seems really steep for what is a small unit. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to shipping costs.
I can half fill a container with roof tents from China for £100.
Thanks for the info though.
More and more stuff is trickling in to the UK for our trucks now.
Best prices and choice to seem to be through Eastern Europe at the moment I think.
Window shop in Oz and buy from Poland /Czech maybe?
Try these guys if you need anything more for your beast matey.

I used them a while back. Good service and they even threw some stickers in!

Cheers bud, wish I'd ordered my damper from them, could have got it a bit cheaper! :doh

Ah I wouldn't worry....
It's nice to have something on your truck you can say is all the way from Australia!
Quite a good choice of products though I think.
They do like to send stuff over in batches, so delivery can take 2-3 weeks, but postage doesn't seem too bad.

I used escape through a mate for my bumpers which should be waiting for me when I get back from my holiday...

Haha good point!

I actually have a few Aussie parts come to think about it... damper, front recovery points, intercooler, extended door bracket and my favourite - solid flywheel and HD clutch :D

Oh, and a lokka soon to be fitted :thumbs

Who hoo get you!:)
That clutch upgrade sounds expensive though.
Did you need it or want it as a mod?

Surprised you haven't fitted that for the Lakes trip :doh
Someone hasn't been working hard enough :lol

DMF went so a new flywheel was on the cards. Didn't want to fit a new DMF as it would just go again eventually (they ain't cheap either). Found a uk supplier for solid flywheel kits but did my homework and imported an Aussie kit with HD clutch and had it fitted all for 1300 bucks - same cost as the uk suppliers kit BEFORE fitting

Meant to give me 30% more clamp. I love it :D

Time, money and finding someone who will fit it bud:nenau Remember I've moved the missus in recently so had to get some new furniture.

Plus I've just had a hefty MOT bill as rear brake calipers and discs were stuffed.

On the plus side I left the garage with a copy of the Lokka instructions and they've said a day and around £300 should see it fitted :thumbs Just need to sort timings and the beer tokens.

I'll be fine for the Lakes, I'll just keep the momentum up and bounce over the rocks like I did in Yorkshire :thumbs

Jesus Rob!!!!! Fit it yourself, it really don't look that hard, I'd have done mine myself if it wasn't easier to just swap the diff over :sly
