Fitting to the T2 is not too bad but you may need alternative shim washers in order to get the clearance correct but Nissan could not supply so stuck them in the lathe and turned em down, but not so easy if you needed thicker ones, do not know about the Troll though, Rick

Not sure if my garage had to do anything with the shims but according to the Aussies Nissan can provide shims for the Trols of need be.

Nice :naughty

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it.

Is it possible you could write about the pro's and cons you find with it as I thought it would be the one I would be interested in fitting myself but there's also something like the Detroit locker that someone is saying would be ideal for my truck.

If you could that would be cool :thumb2

Will see what I can do bud :thumb2 Will use Wales as a testing ground :naughty

Detroit locker is just another type of auto locker like the Lokka.

Well got the Trol back and been down to a dirt carpark to test the Lokka.

So far impressions are good, can't wait to test it out properly in Wales though. Definitely working, very positive self centering effect, most when turning in 4wd and on the power (you're meant to ease off when turning) but also even just in 2wd with only the hubs locked. Can hear the occasional faint click of the Lokka ratcheting when on hard lock (2wd or 4wd) so my garage have done a good job of setting it up :thumb2

Oh beautiful is that normal then???? I've said this to you and Elt before, think Rick said that it might have been shimmed incorrectly if it was ratcheting on corners, unlock the manual hubs and it does go away :thumb2

I don't know if it's the same for you as our steering geometery is totally different but when I have it in 2WD on roads with hubs locked the steering feels a lot tighter, unlock them so they are free and they feel more floaty :nenau

Yeh bud, I get that too :thumb2 That's what I meant by the self centering effect even in 2wd (with hubs locked). It's cos we don't have a front diff anymore and the Lokka is locked and wants to go straight by default until the cornering forces make it start ratcheting.

I read up about hearing the clicking when it's ratcheting and my understanding is that if it's shimmed properly you shouldn't hear it much so maybe yours isn't quite shimmed correctly :nenau

Seem to be plenty folk who are in the same boat though and not had any issues apart from the louder noise when ratcheting so I wouldn't worry about it myself as these things are bulletproof :thumb2

Well guys after road testing it on the Wales laning weekend, it's a huge thumbs up for the Lokka, fantastic piece of kit :thumb2

Trol just rumbled wherever I pointed her :D

Yeh that's bugger about the gasket :( Once you get the engine swap sorted though definitely order a Lokka from Oz :thumb2

I think its the actual head itself thats cracked rather than the gasket, compression is a bit low, but I don't care, I don't even want to find out.

When I look at lokka webpage there is only one lokka. I thought there might be a difference between the 3.0 and 2.8?

You'll want the NIS-FO-242, but double check with them on the phone or via e-mail first as a very expensive mistake to make, don't forget the £50 import duty on top of LOKKA & Postage :doh

No need :nenau only difference between 2.8 and 3.0 diffs are the ratios in the crown and pinion bud and they aren't being touched
