That edge would have been handy as a tin opener on the M25 when that X5 pushed me under an artic trailer. :naughty Wouldn't have been so kind to the trailer tyres though.

It's as blunt as F**k:lol
Its just the shape.
Actually having a re think on the corners as from a fabricating point of view they are fairly complicated and alot of fettling.
Mk II currently under design :thumb2

Don't worry Elts, it took Nissan up to MK4 before they perfected the Terrano

I get carried away sometimes mate with these things.
Chasing practically and aesthetics can be hard work.

So mk II corner cut, folded and tried on for size and look.
Have to say i do favour this to the other. IMG-20200503-WA0032.jpg

Seen these on winch bumpers but not sure on the purpose :nenau

I like that, not sure it would suit my older Terrano so I might have to borrow it for a couple of months just to be sure. :augie

After the accident the only thing keeping the bumper on was the R/H bracket remains and the L/H indicator wires. I disconnected the bulb and it swung right round to the other side of the car! :lol

How strong does the bumper feel?

I'm going to brace the corners on the inside to keep it all nice and rigid.
Folded 3mm plate so once all together it should be very strong.:thumb2

Means you can manover in very tight places and know you are 10mm from wall/other object, I would be lost without mine

Right, thought they where an antenna of some sort.
So basically a visual aid then.
Decided they look shite so not going to bother on mine.

I must stop looking at this thread, I want to tear mine apart and start building the bumpers! :lol I have other stuff to do first and tools to buy, the Mig needs a bigger torch as I nearly fried it on 10mm plate and the winch budget has gone on a DRO for the milling machine.:(

The bumper is looking very good. :thumb2

Parking pole is what they’re called. They’re quite common on jap imports. Some We’re even electric and went up like an aerial lol.

I'll just stick with my spidey sense:lol

No, but mine are antenna!

The do serve some other great purposes...

* Like Rick's, good for knowing your corners in tight spaces.
* Mine are 1 inch taller than my roof rack, so if the antenna don't go in, the truck wont!
* Not as good as Bush Cables, but they do keep foliage clear of you windscreen on tight lanes!

Still loving the look of this bumper Elty... Will you be moving on to the rear?
