we will see!! Its a stolen idea - seen a load of EGR blanking plates made up that way - so that you can just slide them in even if there is an existing gasket in place... worth a try and im happy to be a guinea pig...!

Then I'll get a mate at work to machine cut a load of them and I'll keep a stockpile so that if any other members want to do the same then we have the blanking plates to hand :thumb2

I have one, Rick measured a few times and cut a thin plate out just smaller than the width of the bolts, loosened off the egr and slipped in the plate, job done :thumb2

Took about 10 mins

cool, sounds good - my thinking for the "anchor" type design is that you can slot it in without it dropping right the way through, taking into account how fiddly it is reaching over and down to where the EGR is...:thumbs

except that it is almost impossible to push it in from the top with any confidence that it is in place, much easier to push it up from the bottom, Rick

Hi, is the shop open yet for these?

was just reading up the possible issues on the 3.0 when blanking off.

Is the 2.7 clear from the higher Exhaust Gas Temp issues.

These engines have never changed in 10 years & a great deal of them pre 2000 never had EGR's fitted Nissan only started fitting them to 2001 & onwards I think for the new EU laws back then:augie

depends on the market they were inteneded to be sold in, japanese and american pathfinders etc had them fitted as early as 96 yet for countries such as south america oceania not till 2000's

and i can confirm this does not effect the TD27T or ETI as it does the ZD30

the fuel input for the TD27T is purely governed by the drivers foot so no way of creating a fuel rich or over boost environment.
the fuel input for the TD27ETI is goverend by the ECU but the egr does not vary or dictate the fuel loading in this environment.

actually there is a guy on fleabay ....... bertye 58 I think , who sells blanking plates and kits for most vehicles ........ I had my Isuzu done :thumb2

sorry bud, got them made but the bolt holes were out by a couple of mm each AND the metal is too thick to slide in with the egr in place (fine if you actually remove it) SO I am having new ones made which will be 1mm and no bolt holes - I will drill them or lob the sides off or leave as is.

I am hoping they will be done next week...
