OK, so I've changed my air filter for an induction unit, Wow! BIG Difference...
Now I'm looking for my EGR! Can't find anything that looks like the pictures on EGR Download! The Air filter is different to mine!
I have found a similar sized thingy that looks like it might be the EGR, but it's got a screw and locking nut in the top of it which has yellow paint daubed on it, I'm guessing to stop it coming undone.
Can anyone with a 96 2.7TDi confirm what I'm looking at??????

My 2.7tdi maverick never had a egr valve.

Thing with the yellow paint on it is the turbo mechanism.

EGR

Naaaaaa!
Tis only 2-3" across, 6mm screw and locking nut come out of centre, it's them that are painted yellow, like an anti unlocking type job.

Under bonnet as you look on drivers side (right hand drive) you will see the inlet manifold, its on the back of that near the heater pipes if you have one, and it looks like this :

This is the waste gate actuator, don't touch it

then be my guest and remove it :lol

EGR

It looks like that, but with a 6mm screw & nut in the middle!

Sounds like waste gate actuator? What side of the engine are you looking at?
Pics will clarify :augie

Drivers side,

Well in that case it must be the EGR then :thumbs I assume it's at the end of the inlet manifold nearest the bulkhead:rolleyes:
Mine's long gone so can't confirm from real life just a vague memory of there being a nut on the top of it :augie
Get us a pic then you'll be safe

is it me? or does 96 seem early for a TDI? has it got a bonnet scoop?

EGR

Yes of course it has! You think I would lie?
It's what it says in the log book!

96 is when they fazed out the square headlight for the round, my 1st Terrano was a 96, it was the last of the square headlight

hence my user name:)
