I've got to do track rods too but this is all one package http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=301355905119&alt=web

May do the bar seperate?

Note to anyone planning on buying steering parts, do not buy this kit :doh

Went to ricks today, removed all old drag link and tie rod ends, set new ones to similar alignment (by eye) popped it all in place, began to do up, but instead the nut and thread began turning together, seems either the draglink hole was too big or the tie rod shoulder was too small, rick combated this by using washers and got it done up, but at which point there was no play in the tie rod ends, if I had driven it surely would have parted company :doh

The tie rod would actually petrude through the drag link (more than the thread) so the nut would do up all the way but it was still loose...

I thought you got them from milners.
Send it back and get a refund.

Ouch that don't sound good, i'd try & get some of your money back if you can but I also thought you had gone to Milners for your bits

Just looked at your link and that looks like a wd 21 drag link with the steering damper mount.

nissan used two different sized tapers on the ball joints in there WD21 D21 R20's at it doesnt seem to be model specific, Mine has small tapers all round including the pitman arm and idler arm but a bloke down the road had small taper tie rod ends but the larger pitman and idler tapers..his is a three door though .

you can use the navara drag link but it needs to be from a 2wd model D21 the D22 has large taper all round.

I did consider just swapping the inner tire rod ends to larger taper in the event I got the wrong drag link for mine, but(it gets better...sarcasim) the larger inner tie rods also have different sized shanks that screw into the tie rod adjusters.

Shouldn't have to alter though, it bolts into the terrano fine, however, it's 3 components don't tighten up enough to each other.

It us now a used kit with tool marks ect, but I sure am gonna fight this as it cost nearly 130 quid!

yeah that's the reason they don't tighten up, as it's got the wrong taper.

Shame aswell as the kit seemed quite a heavy duty.

Had grease nipples on the drag link too :thumb2

I had a similar problem regarding the nut and thread turning. I had to apply a lot of pressure to get the thread to stop spinning.

Alex, assuming you put in your vehicle specifics in the listing, then you have full recourse for exchange or refund.
GFI at once :sly

The supplier looks quite genuine, with only 1 negative feedback in 25,000 I guess he doesn't want to double that...

Have you been in contact with the supplier, is he willing to send the correct part?

I know it's terrible when parts are wrong, but see what he says.

Rustic

And do please let us know, maybe it is just a mistake. I'm quite interested in their kit as well :)

I have contacted him, nothing as of yet, but I will give him time to return.

Only problem being now the kit has spanner marks on it, but this can surely not be helped as we had to fit it to know... :nenau

Elty could have a point with the drag link, however the ball joints DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MOVEMENT TO FOLLOW THE SUSPENSION, having the car on the hoist meant the wishbones were at full droop, and even with the nuts to the drag link slack the TRE would not go down to the axle by almost two inches, of course it could be the TRE's are wrong as well, but the TRE's were not a match for the drag links, different tapers???? although they fitted the drop arm and axle's, Rick

Yeah they were a few inches off indeed. I know they will wear ect but it was a good distance :nenau

There was certainly no flex with the washers, but we did a damn hefty amount of force on them to try and secure it, we had a metal bar from top of axle stand and a rod as a torque amplifier :freak3:

Ok slight update, he has messaged asking for the reg of my terrano.

It's a start.

Still does not explain tho Pete why the 3 parts supplied did not fit each other, Rick

Indeed . The guy is no doubt sourcing the components and making the kit package. I bet he doesn't know one drag link from another or that there are diff tapers.
I found with fleabay the more info you give them the less chance they have to wriggle out of sorting things :thumbs

I always take pictures and send it to the seller as proof they supplied the wrong parts.
Harder for them to try and get out of it.
From what I have read is it the track rod ends that don't fit the Draglink.
If so then he is most definitely in the wrong as the parts he supplied are not compatible.
