Yes definately non compatible, could be either part at fault though, too big a hole in the drag link or too small a taper in the tie rods :nenau

I always take pictures and send it to the seller as proof they supplied the wrong parts.
Harder for them to try and get out of it.
From what I have read is it the track rod ends that don't fit the Draglink.
If so then he is most definitely in the wrong as the parts he supplied are not compatible.

top marks there elty, but it is more than that, the track rod ends do not have anything like the same amount of up down movement of the originals so at full droop even with stops fitted the balls would have been strained well beyond their limit resulting in the likelihood of the ball being forced out, with potentially disastrous consequences, as soon as I discovered the problem there was no way I would allow Alex to drive it, had we done it on the ground with suspension at normal levels even I could have missed it, but maybe not as I knew adding washers was not right, but towards the end of the day looking forward to my pub steak who knows, Rick

Rick do you think there would have been enough droop available if the taper wasn't stuffed right up the drag link's slot, oo er missus :lol
I mean if the correct taper was in the drag link , the ball shoulder wouldn't be so close to the drag link casting.
If that is possible then it goes back to the drag link itself as the problem and not the tie rods.

I don't see how you are supposed to know which, one is certainly mis sized.

We did breifly try the old tie rods with the new drag link, that did not work, can't remember why :nenau

I bought my steering relay arm and tie rod ends, and idler arm all together from Milners a couple of years ago.All fitted as they should Apart from the idler arm (bolt holes didn't line up).I made my order over the phone . Obviously not as easy to chat on the phone when ordering from auction sites. If you have to send these back,be sure that you don't incur any return costs.

Not the case Pete as once I realised what the problem was I had the taper in the drag link loose when I tested this and the tie rod would go no where near the axle, true to say the rubber boots on these were very thick and hard, but I pulled down as hard as I could and no joy, Rick

Blimey, sounds like a proper miss match
Refund and Milners I reckon then

+1 on this :thumb2

waiting for my refund with collection :lol

Well if they give you a full refund, and collect the item at their expense, then apart from the inconvenience, I would still class them as a reputable business.

Errors are made, people are human, you only find out how good an ebay account holder is, when something goes wrong.:nenau

If they value their customers that much, then they shouldn't get negative feed back as such, but more of an awareness of how they handled a problem.

Most people would feel confortable dealing with this company, as they know they will be cared for, if something goes wrong.

However... if they refused to refund me, they would then get the " Wrath of Rustic"...:eek:

:lol:lol

Recently I bought a pair of rear number plates, both yellow for a trailer, it was clear on the order, but they sent out one white one yellow, so I contacted them and within minutes I got an apology, and he agreed to send the replacement out ASAP, and that I should keep or dispose of the wrong one. ( stored in a dry place should I need a replacement lol...) ..
I said that I would leave positive feedback, to which he was surprised, and we had a few further emails mostly about my positve attitude.
The moral of the story was, I got my number plates, he got positive feedback, but didn't make any profit on this transaction and most importantly, he will be my first point of contact, should I require any more number plates.
Win - Win everyone is happy.:thumbs

We have a 100% feedback, this is due to buying and paying quickly, and when we sell, we always refund some of postage that was over the price stated. I do find it annoying when a buyer/seller doesn't leave feedback.

I've since taken these out of my watched list after seeing this on fb. Milners is only half hour from me so I'll have a drive up there and get what I need I think, Price works out similar with the discount anyway.

Hope you get it sorted though pal. Refund wise etc.

Rustic, while I agree in general with you excellent post, I do have to question, the supply of incorrect parts, OK the drag link is for another model, but most importantly the track rods seemed OK except that there is not enough pivot on the pin, meaning that if they were fitted to a Terrano (with the correct drag link) then at full droop the ball joints will be under serious strain due to the ball shaft contacting the socket shoulder, this could go unnoticed for a long time on a road going motor but in the long run is a ticking bomb, I would be wanting an explanation from the supplier re, were the track rods correct for a T2 if they were then they are substandard parts, and should be withdrawn and all customers that had been supplied contacted and request the rods be checked by a competent garage, if they were the wrong ones then OK it is simply a case of mistake on supply, feedback to my mind would depend very much on the answers to these, Rick

Binned the track rod end I changed recently or I would have pulled the boot off and got some pics and the length of the taper for future reference.
I can vouch that the milners drag link and track rods all fit and perform as they should on and off road.
The one I changed recently has been on the truck for a couple of years and has suffered some abuse.
Once greased the ball joint tightened back up again but I had already bought one so fitted it anyway.

Do they have grease nipples Elty? :nenau

Update for you chaps....

The seller has requested some pictures, so I will send some at work tomorrow :thumb2

Fingers crossed we are getting there. If he plays ball of course I will give him positive feed back, never bite the hand that feeds you :lol

do not think so, does he not know what he has sold you, sounds like a bedroom sales co that sources stuff elsewhere and does not really know what he is selling, lives could be at risk here, Rick

Yes the milners ones are greasable.

Been in your situation before with having the wrong parts sent even when I have provided the reg number when ordering.
Too many sellers buying in cheap sub standard parts and selling them on as something they are not.
In this case it's just plain dangerous to fit the kit from what rick is saying.
I wouldn't be nice about it mate, my wife and kids use my truck.
Enough said I think.

Sellers can't give buyers bad feedback anyway and it only takes one bad buyer if you're selling to give you bad feedback.
