http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/intek-m-100-plus.html - Very slim but more long than the others

http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/albrecht-ae6890.html - Has a detachable head, so the main part of the radio can be mounted say under a seat. With the radio head attached to the dash. No idea if the that model works well as a radio

cheers, third one looks good :thumb2 is it a wired or wirelss connection between the head and the unit? is anyone using one?

Daved the 4th one's head is connected via a wire. Beleive it's actually a serial lead.

One that briggie linked is also good but can't see dimensions.

my rig is amidland 98 plus, pretty titchy.

must say like idea of seperate front panel only seen that before
on expensive ham gear.

So, a guy at work has given me a CB for fee with a small ariel. :)

Its a Kernow BETA 2100. Anyone know much about these, Google doesnt bring much up on them at all other than the ones for sale on Ebay.

Does anyone know the range of this CB, again only with a small Magmount.

i'd get a moxon cm10 instead of that.

thing is I can talk to people on mine, listen to people, walked into maplins got it off the shelf during lunch break and paid less :nenau

bit of a no brainer really ;)

Farmer of my acquaintance has several of the ones ive just got in some of his vehicles and all battered to fcuk and still working. Good range, good reliability. certainly ok for green laning.

the quality will be poor on the minor + it doesn't have EU40 which can be fun in summer talking to people in europe. Still they sometimes come on uk40.

the quality will be poor on the minor .

bit of an in yer face poorly evidence brash statement. Thats like saying i have a jag so minis are no good.

how long did you use yours for ?

as i said, i know an individual who has several and finds them very efficient :nenau

EU40 is of no interest whatsover as i want it as a short range device. Been there done that with the breaker breaker saddos nearly 30 years ago.

the trouble back in those days daved was that a lot of idiots gave the rest of us sensible operators a bad name , it was people using the frequencies inconsiderately , getting bigger aerials , more powerfull radios , high power linear amplifiers , and destroying the channels for everyone else .

a radio is a personal thing , you can spend a lot of money on various radios , but if it does the job for you then its a good one ..... simples :thumb2
