dont need a licence for cb , do you want a new cb , or a used one ? ... im selling a beauty :thumb2

legally you can use 80 channels, uk40 and eu40. No license required. There is naughty channels too with different modes. Depends on what you want a CB for.

Any CB that can do these (uk40 and eu40) is fine. I'd try and buy new as buying a 2nd hand one could be hit and miss if it works properly.

Makes to look at are midland, Intek, TTI.

Something like a Maycom EM27 or a Maxon CM10 is a good starter Cb.

agree mate , the tti 660 is a fantastic rig for the price , then you need a aerial of course , a mag mount will do ... cheap enough ..... or ... you could buy my set up :naughty

new cbs start at about £50 , then aerials start at about £10 plus fittings , but thats for a very basic set up

not many people on cb these days , but its perfect for green laning ...... or you could buy my set up and go dx,ing :naughty:thumb2

im still thinking about a CB starter kit. i laughed, when I asked Briggie about the basic setup, and how far they reached, he told me over 6 miles lol, that splenty far enough.

I wont be buying one untill summer though, but when i researched it, the entire kit was less than £80, bargain!

BigG has offered me a Midland 98 with ariel and mount for what seems to be a decent price.

I am buying it for the purpose of green laning mainly :)

I assume its not complicated to fit one?

think 98 is pretty small, might even be one ive got not sure off hand.

on a t2 could slot into little cubby bottom of dash,. may find that if
has electronic channel memory reverts to ch.9 if power interupts,
stall motor etc.

ive wired mine to memory feed of stereo. , then run coax under dash
and trim into boot. then pop mag mount onto roof as required.

best place is middle of roof to acts as even ground frame for swr.

briggie will take you thru swr, hopefully if already existing set up
shouldnt change that much.

easy to fit and a perfect radio for a green laning.

If it does revert to channel 9 when it looses power you can always run a power feed direct from the battery. ;)

On the subject of which model, are there any really neat slimline ones that still cut the mustard?

Bit strapped for dashboard space in my wagon :thumb2

http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/intek-m-100-plus.html - Very slim but more long than the others

http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/albrecht-ae6890.html - Has a detachable head, so the main part of the radio can be mounted say under a seat. With the radio head attached to the dash. No idea if the that model works well as a radio
